  1. Oooh! I don't know what's happened there then, Stab... ?
  2. What sort of sound do the tapewounds have, RB? I think Teebs has some black ones, but I figured that's an S&M thang...?
  3. Top right hand corner of any post. Click the symbol that looks like a little pair of maracas (next to "Report Post"), and copy / paste the link. 👍
  4. Exactly. It's been the way of things ever since Klaus Gibson winged Les Paul's mother-in-law with some 00 buckshot, and I don't see no reason to go changing it now.
  5. That's a thing, I dunno if these Fender flats will soon lose the "bite" that they have at the moment...
  6. Melfunktion would be great if the band leader was called Mel! Arguably a better name than Graham Central Station. 👍
  7. Ladies Night!
  8. That's as confounding as "Free Beer" and my personal fave "All You Can Eat For £3.50".
  9. I got the blame for coming up with the crappy name, when it was all actually the guitar player's idea! I just tried to be help by suggesting it might look better written vertically, rather than horizontal. Clutching at straws ... hey, even that's a better name!
  10. Yep, Fender kidnap family members or pets, and the ransom demanded is playing live and recording with Fender products. As they still do with many recording artists even today. And so would I, if I were them.
  11. A good question. They came on the bass. Green silks and coloured ball ends. Probably not expensive. I wonder if somebody can identify them? 👍
  12. Ahh, that might explain the presence of the various on-stage furniture behind Foxy as well. Oh, well spotted! And of course, Welly is fabled to have recorded with a one of those little Peaveys. Perhaps before he got all supplied with all the free stuff, like vintage AC30s and Marshalls?
  13. I know I'm a late developer, but I've just accidentally discovered playing funk with flats on a J bass. All 3 knobs turned up full, and straight in to my cheapass Behringer 802 USB mixer, using channel #1 for some boost from the mic' pre, and half a turn on the compressor. Playing along to this through a high pass filter. It's so down and dirty, playing it in my Larry Graham (modified) style, I feels like a wild animal, and it sounds... it sounds exactly like the smell of sex. Many thanks to the BCer who recently put me on to Betty Davis. I have the album now on Spotify. 👍
  14. He certainly sounds great whatever he plays...
  15. If we're reading between the lines - they don't have a set, or any gigs, or even a regular rehearsal night. They just have goals, apparently.
  16. I know that band from somewhere, but damned if I can remember now...
  17. My sympathies. It's a cop-out name then? I hated my last bands name so bad... it just shouldn't be difficult, but I know it is.
  18. All music gets thrown in the electric juicer of time, and the great bits (of which there are relatively few, even from great bands / artists), float to the top... If I may spam this: Love that bit of sampled bassline from an otherwise crappy rock song.
  19. Before this moves along too far, I'd just like to say that my electric drill is an AEG, which I consider to be the Warwick / Hofner / Rickenbacker of power tool brands. Thank you.
  20. In my day, we had to listen to good old acoustic hand drills, and it goes without saying that this ::waves finger about:: was all fields. 😛
  21. My apologies for letting you, myself and everybody down. 😔 On a happier note, do you fancy a pie? 😃 Go to my website: www dot piecomparisonbuyer forward slash sponsored by Fray Bentos - the king of traditional low fat tinned pies. 👍
