  1. I currently play with an incredibly rare beast of a drummer - he is tasteful, measured and considered.

We have gelled really well, at a recent practice we were working on a new tune and when we got to the end I said I liked what he had been doing with the kick. He replied that he was following my right hand. "That's funny" I said. "My right hand was following your kick!"

Hmm, maybe it might be worth my while to drive all night nearly the length of the country for a spread like this... ;)

You'd be setting a new distance record, but I think you would be surprised how far some folks are prepared to travel for this!

  3. The Arcadia spider is fab!

If you haven't got mildly smashed and danced under a giant metal spider shooting huge flames into the air while trapeze artists swing overhead and 2 blokes in chain mail suits standing on Tesla coils shoot lightning at each other then frankly you haven't lived! 🤣🤣

Decathlon (and I don't think they're the only one) offer a return system for specific used tents - they have a festival one for £0 and if you bring it back in decent condition you get a £30 voucher.

Yes, this requires them to be packed up and not just abandoned like the majority do

I would hope/assume that the tents are sold off. You could even flog them off cheaply to next year’s lot when they arrive.

Sadly not. They get sent to charity if they are packed up but the ones that are still up get sent to landfill

This whole festival thing has become an abomination. So we wake up this morning to images of acres and acres of filth and rubbish left behind by this new "environmentally enlightened generation, for as far as the eye can see. Its over the love in the sun thing which is where it all started is over its finished. Time to ban all festivals. If ur not disgusted by this then....well, I give up.

This is typical of the dickheads that go to big festivals.

Contrast that with this view of the Shindig site, taken this year before the litter pickers did their work.

QOTSA on the other stage are worth a watch. They're flinging out great tunes, sound massive and seem to be in great form from all of the live footage I've seen from this tour. Love em!

They're showing this on BBC4 at the moment. Bloody excellent.

Lizzo's set is well worth a watch on iplayer especially for anyone who likes a bit of 70s soul/funk.

She was great, band were super tight too. The biggest crowd for any one artist at that point (I have a feeling ol' Reg might top that though)
