1.
If you want it cheap then DIY is the way to go! For 5 pedals I would imagine it wouldn't cost more than £10-15!
Hi Jack I looked at the Gorm thread on talkbass, I thought the orange one the bloke made was dynamite, however, I think mine would look sh*t cos I'm completely hopeless at any sort of DIY.
2. I have three stingrays two 3-bands and a 2-band. I've had the 2-band for centuries and I think it's an amazing bass, very versatile, dunno if it's just been wrecked over the years but I can get a very warm mellow tone as well as the more characteristic aggressive vibe.
3. Swapped my ME50B for an mxr m-80 of Simon's, absolutely no problems great guy, recommended!
4. Cheers Chris thanks mate those gator pedal bags look very reasonable....
5. Alright folks I've just got rid on my multi effects and have a bought a few pedals. I don't envisage more than 5 pedals (tuner:limiter:chorus:octave:preamp/distortion), any cheapish pedal board recommendations that would suit this sort of thing. Do I need a powered board or can I daisy-chain from a boss power supply? Thanks in advance Stevie
6. Man that's a cool looking thing but I'm just never gonna play a six string bass mate, so I'd just be adding to my cupboard woes!
7. Bumpage for pics
8.
I have a Boss TU2 for sale. A few scuffs and knocks but nothing terrible. Perfect working order. £35 delivered.
PMed
9. At work at the minute mate I'll try to get some asap
10.
Any pics? Is it currently in a playable condition? Bugger! Just back from Glasgow with my band. Typical that!
Yeah totally playable I bought it to take down on the plane to play at Bestival cos It was too much hassle to bring my double bass, stuck a set of reasonable (£80) strings on, I actually really like it but I've got two double basses and 4 basses as well as a bunch of other sh*t and its sitting in a cupboard. The annoying things are the rubber foot on the stand has gone I keep meaning to nip down to B&Q and get a replacement, and battery box door is broken I need to nip down to Maplins. It's not brand new so there are a couple of marks on it but it looks and sounds cool, not looking to make anything on it £250 or a swap dunno really would rather someone got some use out of it and I got some cupboard space back Stevie
11. I have a Phil Jones Bass Briefcase which is cool
12.
Nice looking copy. I actually have serious GAS for something similiar. I must say, looking at it, it seemed surprising it was an Ibanez. Are you sure itisn't a Greco?
I'm no expert just really going by what the seller said and getting advice from BCers who are far more knowledgeable than me.
13.
Stevie - is there a serial number? It'll be stamped on the back of the head if there is. J.
Hi John no there isn't a serial I thought there might be as I imagine it's a later copy but no.
14. Yeah it doubles as a volume pedal and I would sell it, open to offers really just want to cover the cost of a preamp/drive.
15.
Interesting tug-bar holes on the 'guard. I'd bet it is one of the later Ibanez copies, judgin by those elephant-ears keys and size/diameter of the tuning capstans themselves. One of the better copies and with full-width inlays, too!
fancy a swap for the one you have for sale
16. Looking to simplify my sound so after a good preamp/di/distortion. Sansamp or similar, open to offers and ideas. Also got a palatino ve-500 for sale or trade.
17. Over on the bass forum http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=80652 A bunch of pics, looking for a lightweight cab. SOLD
18. Hi I have a Palatino VE-500 EUB looking for [s]£250[/s] now [s]£220[/s] now [s]£200[/s] £160 + delivery, looking to trade for a lightweight cab! Put a £70 quid set of strings on it, but the rubber foot on the stand has seen better days anybody interested I'll post some pics. This is going to the bay soon! SOLD Cheers Stevie
19. I think I might just keep the rick TRC however your if you can make me one it'll be much appreciated and name yer price. Sadly Britain is a bit sh*t for the prog gigs, we played Summers End which was great and recently supported Pallas at the Ferry in Glasgow which was cool. But the gigs are few and far between and its such a hassle getting the tubular bells and gongs out for one man and his dog
20. Hey Jon those pick TRCs look great really well done I dunno if you make them for other folk but I'd certainly buy one! On the Baltic prog front go for it, I've had not real dealings with them but apparently the folk are really nice , no money in it of course but apparently cheap flights are just about to be available from Edinburgh.
21. Just thought I'd post a pic of the bloke who plays with Italian prog band The Watch, he makes his own 'Handyman' guitars.... nice!
22. Cheers Jon that's great thanks for the info mate, really useful to know a bit more about the bass. I had it on quite good authority before I went to see the bass that it was a great copy. I have to admit I know nothing about them and got most of the info from this thread and your posts, so cheers! I'm pretty sure it's a real Ric TRC, do people buy them? I'd really like to get my hands on an Ibanez TRC. As for playing in Edinburgh are you talking about Abel Ganz we don't do that many gigs but would love to play Edinburgh, our next gig is in Vilnius at the Baltic prog rock festival, though some of the lads are doing an acoustic set at the Ferry. My rockabilly band The Chihuahuas are meant to be playing some new trad/roots music venue in Edinburgh though at some point though.
23.
Congrats on your Ibby! Looks great.
I'm dying to get up the road and have a wee blast of it thru my amp, the life of a wage slave and all that!
24. Just some more info about my newly purchased Rickenfaker. You might not be able to see the details from the pics, I'll post some more: It's a neck through bass and has checkerboard binding with a gap at the bridge, full length sparkly inlays, there are holes where a thumbrest used to be, and stereo outs marked 'stereosound' and 'standard'. The bloke I bought it from got it ten years ago and that owner had swapped the badge from ibanez to a real ric badge, I think they both worked in music shops at the time so getting ric spares was a possibility. It's a good quality instrument and I believe seller certainly thinks its an ibby and wasn't try to pass it off as something it wasn't. Obviously I'd like it to be an ibanez cos they seem to be the most expensive . I'm sure I'll totally love it and wont give a monkeys what make it is! Any info appreciated though, Jon appears to have the knowledge!
