1. Hands are a complete mystery. Jazzes necks don't necessarily feel more comfy for small hands. You have to try to be sure. If you dig P sound and Ibanez necks, maybe a Bob Glaub Lakland in its large but thin neck model is a nice compromise ? That's not what I'd call a fast neck, but it's only my hands.
2.
From this video, it sounds just like my old Greco.
I agree. And they're reasonably light too. I had three TB1100 from late '80s, every one of them was under the 9 lbs mark. Great basses for the money.
3.
Bearing in mind it's size and that the body is mahogany, 9lb is not too shabby. List £4450 though? Mmm.
That's it. I didn't have a try on this model, but from what I can hear, it sounds pretty darn close to old Greco replicas, from late '70s and late '80s, which don't require so many bucks. The playing is refreshing indeed, useful "hear how it sounds with a pick" demo. I wouldn't expect a "slap in your face"-type demo with a tbird though, not sure it's the right poney

Hello there

Thank you A friendly place with a lot of knowledge shared by the community members, it's tasty and sounds perfect to me ! As far as music is concerned, I'm afraid my playing won't learn anything to anyone, got many many (many) things to learn But I'll do my best to convert my GASsing habits into something useful for anybody enjoying Japanese axes from late '70s till today.
5. Hi, Greetings from Paris, France ! I live there for 17 years, and enjoy playing bass for a few years more. My apologies for my bad english, but I'm sure contributing to some threads here will improve this ! And I'm sure I'll learn many things about music and gear too. Cheers Yannick
6. Hi there, and sorry for my bad english - I'm from France. As for BB Yammies, I had a BB7s and currently have a lovely BB2000, both from the same late'70s - early'80s era. These are different birds. The BB7s is a bolt-on medium scale. Very light and comfy with its C-shaped neck, nice string tension which I remind being pretty close to a long scale bass. Perfect fret-levelling and nice low action too. It was not a top-grade Yammy but components and attention to details were impressive. She sounded terrific too, with a real deeeeeep split coil pickup, and a lovely barking jazz pup near the bridge. Definitely not a toy. The BB2000 is heavier, mine is about 10 lbs, which is fairly what you'd expect from these models. B-shaped neck, gorgeous ebony fingerboard. She has a massive sound with more presence than the the BB7S. Her reverse P-jazz pup combination is not so common, very useful though. Both are great basses, I guess it's the same for the other BB models from that era. Yamaha did - and does - great job. I recently had a try on an old PB-400R, what a PBass (B-shaped neck and 9lbs) !
7. Highly recommended seller. Just received the bass safe and sound. Great price and great communication too, Mark is a top bloke to deal with. Due to international wire, the money took a week to land on his account. Mark hold me the bass while it would have been probably a lot easier to deal locally, and he sent me the parcel instantly after receiving my payment. That could not have been better - plus the bass is a keeper ! Thanks again Mark
8. One rare bird from France. For sale is this lovely jazz 66 replica, handmade by John Elliot in 2010 – though I purchased this one in late 2011. Lollypops keys put aside, it is a very faithful replica of a Fender vintage. Genuine specs, with veneer rosewood fingerboard, binding and perloid marks, full nitro lacquer, period correct buttons, celluloid pickguard... and a magnificent relicing work. Every pieces of this bass were artificially aged, except fingerboard and frets of course. A real nice job, performed with both taste and consistency. For instance the wear on the body subtly reveals the white primer and wood layer which is worn itself . And it's also very comfortable: the broken in feel of the neck makes it very easy to play and is similar to old Fender feel. It's a great instrument too. Fret levelling is perfect, trussrod has very little work, you can get a low action without worry. Its weight is about 4.3 kg, perfect balance too. John put Voodoo grey bottom on this one. Nice definition in the bottom, wide-opened highs and agressive meds, all well highlighted by the fine rosewood fingerboard. Great jazz tones. It's yours for 1550 GBP, hiscox case and extra celluloid tortoise which is John's too included. My phone is not so good with pics (wrong white balance), here you got one with tortoise pickguard. Dakota red of John's pics is more faithful. More pics on this link : http://www.bravewood...akotaJtype.html As for the condition, it's just like it was when I received the parcel. Let's say “new”. I can send it to European countries in a strong parcel, extra fees on your side. As for me, I didn't post much on BC – not so good in english -, but I made a few deals here with lapolpora and loudandclear. A link to my profile on a French forum – not many details sorry: http://forum.onlybas...hoochiekoochie/
9. lovely jazz, your one&only word for describing it is the right one for sure. This is definitely a funky jazz. It rings so nicely that I just don't want to change anything in settings or strings (DR Hi-Beam ones ?). Many thanks

11. You're right, but it's my first post here It's a very light bass indeed, the kind of instrument you can play for hours. As for the details (frets condition, action, neck jonction) I'll try to post some pics tonite.
12. Hi there, I'm selling from France this 4-strings Black beauty, Vintage series PB62 from japanese luthier Bacchus. It's a 90s model, black-body with tortoise pickguard, serial number is 10XXX. Very nice condition, frets seems almost new. Vintage series were built from the 90s to 2005, high-grade Fender bass reissues which have never been exported from Japan. This handmade bass has great materials and assembly, particularly a beautiful rosewood fretboard and a really thin neck-to-body jonction. Woods selected by Bacchus are very resonant. It weighs very light also (3.7 kgs). It sounds great on every part of the neck, with low action, huge bottom end, and a good slappy-tone. Neck is straight. Neck: maple/rosewood Body: alder Weight: 3,7 kgs Fret condition: very good Reverse tuning pegs Medium-type frets I'd like to get 600 GBP from it, shipping not included (something like 50 GBP). No trade- thanks. This is not a fake: bass is for sale on a french forum http://forum.onlybass.com/index.php?showtopic=31983
