1. I wouldn't call it a damage, as the body remains untouched, which isn't obvious on my pic indeed. Btw i bought the bass like that. I don't know what happened but it's not a fall or a shock, otherwise there would have some signs on the wood. Maybe the bass was against a wall and the surface scratched against it when its previous owner took it, or something like that. It's so easy to do such things with nitro layers, they're really thin and fragile. Maybe it's only me, but my other full nitro basses, "full" as opposed to only top lacquer ones, haven't their coat in such a good condition. I'd say then the layers and coat of this one are in pretty shape, really :-) Beautiful but fragile.
2. Thanks, lovely P indeed. Price is lowered again: 1200 euros / 1050 GBP, shipping to European countries included.
3. Thanks Pawel, it's a lovely instrument, with this old Fender tone. One great Pbass !
4. I'm selling this nice Vanzandt Pbass, real nice condition especially considering it's a full-nitro bass, w/ very thin layers. These basses are handmade in Japan by PGM, Moon & Vanzandt builder. Nice materials, nice craftmanship too, these basses are easily on par with best Fender replicas money can get – have Bravewood, Fender CS, Navigator in mind. Neck is damn-straight with low action, no fretbuzz at all with the strings 2mm above 12[sup]th[/sup] fret. Real-gorgeous madagascar rosewood fingerboard, medium frets as new, oil-finished bone-nut. Neck-profile is between B and C shape, 40mm width, very comfy one. Fairly light for a P : 9 lbs / 4,1 kg. Trussrod is in great working condition - plenty life left, though being strung with 45-105 stainless steel Rotosounds. As for the sound, got to say it's one of the best Ps i had. My Pbass is the exact same Vanzandt, it made me sell my 66 Fender. Better neck, the same dynamics everywhere, more mediums, especially when it's strung with stainless steel roundwounds. Difficult to be disappointed with this one, if you're after that Motown goodness, or these pick-friendly growly mids. Killer slap tone too. 5. Just traded my Vanzandt jazz with Frank's Bravewood Preci, the bass is just as described and Frank is a nice chap, reliable and with great communication. Buy with confidence and thank you again !
6. Hi Frank, I live near Paris. Cheers, Yannick
7. Price drop bump. There you can find some infos on my bass (price in Japan, and so on): http://www.taurus-jp.com/vanzandt/bass_jbv.html I'm selling roughly half-price from street-price in new condition, if you keep in mind shipping fees & customs.
8. Here is my Vanzandt JBV jazz bass, which was built in Japan by PGM luthiers, who build Moon basses too. These basses are on par with high-end replicas - think Navigator, Bravewood, Momose, Fender CS. State condition is very good, if you keep in mind these basses are full-nitro coated, with very thin layers. These are fragile too : there's no shock at all on the bass, but some signs of wear have to be noticed, especially on the back of the body. Relic in progress. Neck is straight, with a nice low action, no fretbuzz anywhere. Gorgeous Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with clay dots and oil-finished bone nut. Medium frets are in pretty good shape. Fairly light at 9 lbs / 4,1 kg Electronics is VVT classics, Vanzandt pickups and capacitor, which work great. What's noticeable on this bass is its low-end and thickness, whether you choose to play neck, bridge PU, or both. Killer jazz. The bass comes with its genuine Vanzandt gigbag, [s]£1215 / 1450 euros[/s] £1175 / 1400 euros shipped to your door in European countries. 9. For sale this nice BB800 Yamaha, built during late 70s. Not far from being a time machine. Except a few marks here and there, this bass is in nearly new condition. No rust on the bridge, strap-pin or tuning pegs, almost new frets... a really nice one, which probably was an under-the-bed instrument for quite a long time. Construction is top-notch, as you'd expect from these old Yammies. The BB800 is based on a reverse-Pbass design, which is very interesting : tighter lows, with the same presence as non-reverse Pbasses. The neck is quite the same as a P62, a comfy one, 43,5mm in the nut position and not chunky at all. Trussrod works in both directions, with a nice low action – 2mm under the octave without fretbuzz. Not a feather but the bass doesn't weigh a ton : 4,4kg It's a great instrument, with great tones too, that comes with its genuine case (nice condition too). Shipped to your door in european countries for 530 euros / 450 GBP
10. What a bass Stuee. Thank you again, Cirrus rules ! Fast shipping, strong parcel, the bass is just as described. Super-smooth deal, thanks again !
11. Quite hard to find a better jazz for the money bump
12. Reduced to 730£, including shipping to European countries. Believe me, it's a great jazz for the money I can ship the parcel during the first week of January.
13. Thanks The OW has a yellowed-creamy colour, the closest picture being the one of the back of the body. Got to say i'm a kind of a "jazz bass nerd", i tried many of them. And this one has everything i'm looking for in a jazz: medium-to-light weight, strong and damn-straight neck, growly tone combined with deep and defined lows... and it's a nice bass too !
14. If you're after a lovely and really nice-sounding jazz, then you may have a look at this one. I'm selling my ESP-made Seymour Duncan Professionnal series jazz. These basses had a 180 000 yens streetprice 15 years ago, they're great piece of craftmanship with nice woods such as Honduras rosewood for fingerboard. This one was hand-made in Japan during late 90s and remains in good shape. A few marks here and there, two knocks on the side of the body, and that's all. It's a 62 jazz replica : slab fingerboard, alder body, full nitro lacquer, bone nut... except a few specs such as a quartersawn maple neck, medium-sized frets, and japanese Gotoh tuning pegs instead of Kluson-reverse ones. The neck is great. Frets and trussrod have a lot of life left, neck's straight with a nice low action, 45-105 roundwounds, no fretbuzz anywhere. It's a strong, stable, fast and comfy neck, strung with 45-105 d'Addario roundwounds. The weight is not bad for a jazz : 4,1 kgs / 8lbs 8ozs As for the sound, i'd say it's on par with high-end stuff such as Navigator jazz bass (had a few of them at home). Great defined lows combined with the typical jazz growl many of us are after. Both pickups (Seymour SJB-1 i guess) sound great, a thumpy neck PU and a gnarly bridge PU, with loads of harmonics. Some jazzes sound great at home and get lost at some point within the band. This one really shines in a live situation. As for the price : [s]800£[/s] reduced to 730£ shipping to Europe included (I live in Paris, France). The bass comes with a non-original flight case, in good-shape too and pretty convenient as it's surprinsgly light. I can ship the bass in january, until then i won't have the appropriate parcel for the shipping, sorry !
15. I tried quite a few Ps, the best one for me was a non-Fender late 70s Navigator, which really shined in the mix. If you needed that Motown thumpiness, you only had to roll the tone back, and open it to have much more presence and some kind of grindiness. Weighed a ton, or something like 11lbs, though. Had a 66 P Fender too, lovely bass, thumpier would have been too much, but she didn't have that growl the old Navigator had... depends on what you're looking for too. As for the replicas, what nails vintage Fenderish tones best for me are Vanzandt PBVs. You can find them sometimes on Ishibashi's Ubox, they give you a lot of P sounds for the money. I came to that conclusion after A/Bing quite a few Ps, from Fender (66P, Fullerton 57 reissue, AV57) to Greco-Tokai-Fernandes lawsuit basses, Navigator, ESP-made Lakland and so on. As for the other brands, i hear quite a few differences within the same model, even on high-end stuff. It's not only "identity", it's about their "power" in the mix too. Vanzandt basses have always sounded just right to my ears, they're great. Anyway, for me the best P around isn't a Fender nor a replica. It's my early 80s BC Rich Eagle. So many nice Ps tones in this bass, and so many more !
16. PM'd on Mono/PT Jr combo :-)
17. Sorry i didn't update but the parcel was delivered this morning and the bass is now sold.
