  1. We didn’t come to help, we came to facilitate/encourage/entrap/advise (delete as appropriate).
  2. I agree. My JMJ sounds so close to my old ‘63 P as makes no odds.
  3. Yeah, he’s phenomenal.
  4. On specs alone, it would be the Flea for me, but with a saving of nearly £500, I’d be compromising right quick and be feeling good about. Good choice.
  5. 😡😤
  6. Same with the Larry Carlton guitars, it’s become more of a brand now I think.
  7. That LPB looks pukka and the the parchment p/g really sets it off. £250? Amazing value!
  8. From the photo, the scratch looks like some grain with some filler in it, unsightly, but not a deal breaker. Dinged neck though - that’s a no no, even if it is a potentially easy fix. Shame, given you’d been looking for one for quite a while.
  9. At the risk of this thread becoming like a broken record… YAMAHA!
  10. Assuming that this is based on streams, folk asking the service of their choice to play Christmas tunes, doesn’t count as a conscious decision to play that particular song. It’s a nonsense, unless you buy it, it doesn’t count IMO.
  11. My old P looked like it had been dragged behind truck and attacked with a chisel (and that was a refin, or at least so I was told) and putting that right would have detracted from its mojo and story. It played great and sounded phenomenal and if I could go back to when I decided to sell it, I might have a word with myself 😂.
  12. I’d leave the missing patch of paint, if it were me. However, if I was going to get that section covered, I’d go for a full refin and forget about the potential loss in resale value.
  13. Yeah. I bought a bass that a ding in the neck, a ‘Ray5. Using the wet cloth and soldering iron technique, it lifted right out. I have since used it on another dinged neck and some furniture that was dinged during a move. The results can vary, but it’s always better than it was.
  14. I reckon it might steam out.
  15. Ooh, lollipops (or Fisher Price as Bobby Vega called them)! Nice.
  16. My Sadowsky pre amp and MXR comp power up to on (possibly remembering the last switch position as these are always on), whilst my Tech21 VTDI, EBS pedals (chorus & octave) and tuner default to off. Not really an issue, I know how they act through use and the LED is always there for confirmation.
  17. The tuners look a bit big on that headstock to me but, other than that, it works from my perspective and would be an easy fix.
  18. I seem to remember that the neck pickup on my old Roscoe Beck was very P like in series. IIRC I tended to use both pickups on, both in series, most of the time (never been a fan of the back pickup soloed on J arrangements).
  19. It might be the lack of detail in the shot distorting, but I looks like there is a black line on it, indicating a w/b/w sandwich.
  20. The Vintage ‘Ray-alike has 3 over 1.
  21. New scratchplate day. Decided that all black was better than tort (did a mock-up with some card). Big shout out to Guitars Electric in Wolverhampton again https://www.guitarselectric.co.uk who sent it it out yesterday using a 24 hour service, even though I didn’t select that option.
  22. Ain’t that the truth.
  23. The F also has a different lower cutaway too (if I remember the look from my first viewing), as it now has the ‘open mouthed whale’ appearance, which it didn’t last time I looked. I wonder if these are possibly CAD mock-ups and they’re still tinkering with the design?
