  1. An insightful and well constructed point. I have read other posts by @Pseudonym and, yet again, his writing fails to disappoint and hits the mark succinctly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  2. As you were a drummer previously, you’re at an advantage to most newbies. Lots of folk here play, or played, more than just bass. Those Shine basses are rather good IIRC, punching way above their price point.
  3. It’s good fun. When I was in my ‘80s covers band, I was all over trying to get the right look: linen jacket with rolled up sleeves; high top trainers; silly, baggy pants with crazy designs on them and the piece de resistance… Dodgy ‘misplaced childhood’ type jacket.
  4. I used to use Allianz, the cover was good, the price was OK. However, as I never had to make a claim, I can’t speak as to the really important bit.
  5. It’s an age thing. I understand that Pfizer manufactures a pill that might help, blue in colour.
  6. “If it's old, then it must be valuable, right?“ Many daytime TV programs operate on this very premise.
  7. Very good. You obviously beat me to the punch as I decided my post would receive ire and took it down. However, I am pleasantly surprised 👏👏👏.
  8. Anyone who introduces themselves here with a playing video deserves a round of applause. Nice one. 👏👏👏
  9. Been Caught Stealing - Jane's Addiction
  10. Police & Thieves - The Clash & others
  11. Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
  12. Vindaloo - Fat Les
  13. This might be fixed now, as I posted something not on the last page earlier and it refreshed to my post at the end of the thread. 🤞
  14. Lightweight, powerful and sit brilliantly in the mix. Don’t sound great when played isolated at home, but in a band situation they are the mutt’s dangly bits.
  15. I thought this might happen.
  16. Music first, always. I was in a Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute, we didn’t dress up at all (other than TP and Mike Campbell, they were quite nondescript) but we aimed to get the music as spot on as possible. It’s nice if the front person/s make an effort, not so it’s a parody, but it doesn’t really matter if they just go on as themselves.
  17. Indeed and you’re in that there London (like what I was up until last year), so having a try would be easy. I’m now 500 miles away (cue The Proclaimers). My mother in law used to live in Pinner.
  18. Tea in the Sahara - The Police
  19. Might be the post quoting, but not on the last page thing I mentioned above.
  20. Looks weird, but if you have the clearance under the strings, why not?
  21. This seems to be BJ & Co’s new guidance, “It’s up to you now, not our problem or fault if it goes tîts up.” British common sense will prevail apparently. Not holding my breath, but perhaps I should.
  22. It seems that when quoting a post from a page that is not the last and, adding one’s own literary flourishes, pressing save doesn’t appear to work, often meaning the save button is pressed again and maybe even once more. The problem seems to be that after the initial save, you are not taken immediately to last post position where your post would have appeared pre update. Instead, posters are left in limbo wondering why their post hasn’t saved, when of course it has, just on the last page, possibly a number of times.
  23. This came up on my Instagram feed a couple of days ago. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRnzp1lLkj7/?utm_medium=copy_link
