  1. USA folk can definitely screw the pooch, look at Gibson quality in recent years 😱. Back with Lakland, IIRC, the Skyline models come via the US, although that might’ve changed.
  2. Not that I recall, but I was trying stuff within my budget (Sad Metro, Dingwall Combustion, used EBMM).
  3. When I bought my old Skyline 5502 from The Gallery, I tried a whole slew of premium 5 stringers before settling on the the Lakland. This included, amongst others, Sadowsky, EBMM and Dingwall. The 5502 was the best sounding and the nicest to play that day and it came home with me.
  4. Slippery People - Talking Heads (I was tempted Fat Man in a Bathtub again, but I’m trying to not to repeat myself.)
  5. Given Gibson’s reverse Midas touch of the past, the future for Mesa could be bleak.
  6. I love Jeff Beck’s version of this on Blow By Blow. She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
  7. That is going to be the mutt’s dangly bits.
  8. Bridget The Midget - Ray Stevens (so un-PC these days)
  9. Home on the Range - John Denver & The Muppets (amongst others).
  10. For sure, but it was the case at the time and I was glad to be able to source the product from somewhere. My point was that, sometimes, Thomann is/was the only option.
  11. Well, at least they were (open that is). Guitar Guitar and The Gallery tend to be my first ports of call. However, back in the first lockdown, the only place I could buy a Focusrite Solo from, in a reasonable timeframe, was Thomann and those Harley Bentons are Thomann specific aren’t they?
  12. Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - Ian Dury et al
