    Owen - Feedback

Just received what looks like a brand spanking new TC Electronic Sub n Up pedal from Owen. Great guy and fab to do business with
  4. So he did 👍 well you do learn something new every day 😎 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitesnake_(album)
  5. Met Neil Murray after a Snakecharmer gig in Edinburgh, two years ago. Really nice fella.
  6. Most things before the Slide it in remix. Anything post this isn't Neil unfortunately.
  7. Growing up in the 60/70/80s afforded me the pleasure of seeing and hearing some of the most amazing bass players on the planet - personal influences inc. in no particular order: Ali McMordie, Phil Lynott, Cliff Williams, Roger Glover, Les Claypool, Geddy Lee, Larry Graham, Flea, Jack Bruce, Carol Kaye, Donald Dunn and many, many more! I have been listening to Whitesnake and Snakecharmer a fair bit lately and I have to say Neil Murray is probably my personal favourite and the player who has influenced my playing most. His technique, dynamics, melody, nuances and lovely runs in songs are so cool and so understated! So starting an appreciation thread for Neil but open to all to discuss and to add your most influential and why? Andy
  8. Cool man 👍 I’ll take it. Work out payment with you tomorrow. cheers, andy
  9. Hey, couple questions ... is it the mini sub n up or bigger pedal and is it £50 delivered? cheers, andy
  10. Sounds good re the little stubby 👍 wish I had tried the mullard pre valves in the lb30, missed opportunity
  11. As a matter of interest, I used to own the LB30 and was advised to source Mullard preamp valves because they didn’t break up on the gain stage, giving more pre gain, is this the case?
  12. They are excellent precisions 👍 I have a 2009 in black and love it dearly! They just play and sound awesome 🤘
  13. That little dink in the neck is easliy fixed by a luthier. My buddy had his repaired for little money, all it took was heating up the lacquer, applying some further lacquer and leaving to cool. What a superb job the guy did PS, think you are around £175 light on the price given that folks are selling Mexican models for £850 - £900. GLWTS
  14. I would recommend the TC Electronic BH250 if your budget is tight? If you want a monster and have a budget near £350, I certainly recommend the Bugera Veyron 1001T - frightening beastie lol https://www.thomann.de/gb/bugera_bv1001t_veyron_bass_head.htm?glp=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8rT8BRCbARIsALWiOvTX0YR0W-3cVzChdFF6a2H_1T1-pzh4_1iH5grB8Xou9UF_JZ2U-4QaAilPEALw_wcB
  15. The thunder bass is an awesome wee thingy! 😎🥳🤩
  16. Have to say mate, the little TC bam200 is perfect to play through as a headphone amp. It’s circuitry negates the speaker out when you plug headphones in and £128 for it is awesome! It fits on my board perfectly and sounds great, my only negative is the digital compression as soon as you play. Don’t know if the compression is built in or symptomatic of it being all digital?
  17. That must sound very cool with the subharmonic activated 👍 my fav is the classic preamp pedal and the optocomp but only use those with either of my TC electronic heads 👍
  18. It’s my first octaver too so finding out a little bit by bit. It’s great value for money and pretty cool at doing what it does. My only negative is that sometimes it lags a little.
  19. No point in a preamp when you have that particular monster at hand 🤘My latest acquisition arrived yesterday and because it’s digital, that is my reason behind the preamp.
  20. Excellent I totally adore my iso2. Been working more on the Ampeg pedals, the optocomp is superb but the classic preamp is outstanding! You really can hear the difference it makes between it going in dry and the effect it creates when activated. The scrambler is getting better by the day. It holds onto the bass signal well producing lots of low end while not getting caught up in the mid mush of distortion and as I said previously, the blend control is a masterstroke in allowing you to control the overdrive signal mixed in with the low end.
  21. What are they? Love HiFi and fan of big floor standing speakers 👍
