  1. Thanks - I'd intended to have a bit of a session over the weekend with it, but a work job overran into the weekend plus my son's car needs a bit of TLC, so it looks like it's being deferred to next weekend instead.
  2. I checked - all set to Instrument.

    Guitar shows 2022

Ah - the old "I won't be buying anything though" ploy! 🙂
  4. I'll check that out - thanks for the idea.
  5. My latest iteration. The HX Stomp replaces four discrete pedals. The two footswitch unit is preset up/down for the HX Stomp; it's temporarily housed in a 3-button case, but I have a blank one I need to drill the holes in and shift the innards across. The MC6 is due to connect to the C4, when I get the MIDI interface box and re-program it, but in the interim the DMC micro is filling in. The Signal Blender merges multiple inputs from a GigRig CincoCinco. I'm now only using 4 of the QM 6's loops, so I may downsize to a 4; however, that would then potentially free up space for another pedal, so I'd need to go back to the 6!
  6. Cheers for the clarification - I definitely misunderstood!
  7. I tried googling this, which was enlightening: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-lm&q=smartass
  8. I have a Cowpoke; I picked it up as a project stripped and converted to passive; I put decent pickups on it. it’s a really nice bass
  9. Well, there's always the HX Stomp... 🙂
  10. I like the no-pots option there! 🙂
  11. Why the higher value pots? Ah - the old A/Log vs B/Linear question; some say Log for Vol and Linear for Tone.
  12. So, I've had a bit more of a play with it and my impression is that the effects are pretty good for accentuating parts of a song (eg. a solo with a spot of chorus) and the tracking for the octave effects is spot-on. However, the overall sound with no effects on loses something; I'm connecting it via a GigRig Quartermaster looper switch and switching it in is noticeable. Based on that, I wouldn't use it as a single fly-rig preamp unit. I also made a separate two-switch box and configured that; I spent a while wondering why only switch FS5 would work, but then I found that I'd set the option to say FS4 is patch up, but I also had to set another option to configure it as a switch rather than an expression pedal.
  13. Linn Isobariks are one of the most regarded Hi-Fi speakers; they're not small, so the isobaric principle wasn't used to save space. If I had a warehouse full of kit, there'd be a pair of those Orange ones in there, next to pairs of Ampeg 8x10 and Acoustic bass bins, but I haven't, so I haven't!
  14. Well, going for the vintage P reduces your mod options. But at £99 (inc VAT, + £8 shipping), you're not going to lose sleep over it! As for simplicity, the J is about 0.05% more complicated than a P - it's just got a 2nd Vol pot attached to what is otherwise the same circuit.
  15. That's pretty much my thinking. I hadn't realised Planet Waves parts were worth that much, but on the flipside it has a builtin tuner (but on the flipside of that it has a battery compartment cut into the body too).
  16. I think the seller is a bit optimistic in their pricing... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224845497917
  17. Looking on another site, it seems that there are a number of regional guitar shows lined up for this year; almost one a month, dotted around the country.
  18. I think that almost all will, because the ones on a Fender are different sizes.
  19. Looks like it's disappeared.
  20. The price is about the same as a new one (as opposed to another which someone has been trying to sell for £10k for a number of years) and the original bridge/tailpiece can easily be put back to bring it up to spec. Sadly my lottery win this week was only £4.40, so I find myself a bit short of available funds to buy this.
  21. Yep - a Schaller 3D (that's what they put on the 4004 and on the 4003s/5).
