🙂 FYI, I've got Spirit 4 & 5-string basses and a 6-string guitar and they seem to balance fine! -
It's a turn of phrase suggesting how to put something right, rather than a suggestion it's literally off-balance.

The thing about these basses is that the neck is pushed out about 2 frets further away from your body. I have seen strap button extensions to try and redress the balance.

You have to beware of Draper - there's a cheapo product line and a pro-level one. I'm intending at some point to get a better soldering iron than the one I've had since the 80s; temperature-controlled ones don't seem to be cheap, though!
