1. thanks folks, the point about positioning does confirm what I thought I had read somewhere. I'd say this would be the "70s" configuration as mentioned:
2. Hello all, I'm procrastinating as to the purchase of a P Bass; I have an old (and rather good, for me at least) P/J, and having seen several nice looking Ps and P/Js for sale, am wondering the following: Does the pickup placement in a straight P make much (or any) difference to its placement on a P/J? I use the P pickup on its own quite a lot. What does the Roadworn series offer aside from it, er, looking a bit battered? Seem to be a couple knocking around (Fender and a Limelight one at the time of writing). Thanks in advance.
3. ------- SOLD ------ Afternoon all, For sale is my Rocktron Midi Raider control pedal with box, cables, instructions + Thomann flight case. These were around £400 when they were released a couple of years ago I think, the flightcase being another £95 - grab a bargain! Ideal for effects-heavy performances and for use with the Kemper profiling amp. Trials in Bristol welcome. Postage at buyer's cost, but collection would be preferable. Dimensions: 15.5" wide x 10.5" deep x 3.5" tall Weight: 10lbs Power requirements: 9VAC/1500mA Details here: http://www.rocktron.com/midi-raider.html The Bank Mode has 120 presets and each instant switch can be set up global or per preset. Customize set-up as either 24 banks of 5 presets with 10 "instant" switches (effect on/off); or 12 banks of 10 presets with 5 instant switches (effect on/off); or 8 banks of 15 presets with no instant switches set up. All 15 access switches can also be set up to "instant", operating as a huge instant access "pedal board". Song Mode allows up to 150 songs to be stored with 15 presets per song. The 10 sets allow placement of 50 songs per set. Remote mode automatically programs the footswitch to match Rocktron remote-compatible units. Titles and individual switch functions will automatically program and continuously update themselves on both the rack unit and the MIDI Raider foot controller. Functions like tap delay, mute, boost and effects on/off instantly appear when connected to a Rocktron remote jack without any programming.
4. I'm also interested to know, as I'm contemplating the same thing.
5. SOLD Open to trade offers with cash your way - basses only Hi all, Putting this back up for sale as my impending cab arrangement will make it redundant. It's in great condition, works perfectly and comes with a Gear4music 3U rack case - rigid but with a fabric outer, cable pouch carry handle and shoulder strap. Total RRP for this lot is £716 (!) new so grab yourself a classic amp with legendary tone and robustness. Trials in Bristol welcome.
6. Hi all, Rig change-around means I'm definitely moving this on now. These are now going for £670 (!!!) new in the UK, so I think this fair for an item / brand with renowned build quality and longevity. I MIGHT be interested in trade for a compact Class D head (200 - 350W type thing) with cash transfer as appropriate, give me a shout if that sounds good. I don't think I need to go into detail about what it's like. Good condition inside and out and comes with a Gear4music 3U case with carry handle and pouches - very convenient. The original rack ears will of course be supplied. More photos can be supplied as requested, tryouts in Bristol welcome. Do have a look at my other post for pedals etc also. 8. No wonder the one10's are so hard to find used: noone wants to part with them!
9. Ibanez Promethean p3110. Small, light, all the connectivity you want and is more than enough for solo practice or even small band rehearsals (300W). Can be linked to a second cab for more oomph.
10. I keep looking at this over and over and over again. I can't really justify it until I've sold at least one of my guitars and amp though :-(
11. bump
12. SOLD Morning all, EHX Bass Soul Food for sale. It's been an 'always on' device for me since I've had it, but I'm changing my rig around slightly so it's not essential anymore. In excellent condition with box and instructions. Thanks
13.
I've always supported smaller British business where i can; Shuker, MJW, DHA, Hot Rod (Pickups), Barefaced, Etc. I'd be on the phone to Bloodstone telling him your preferences, asking for some advice and seeing what he comes up with. I really value being able to discuss the products I buy with the man that makes them. If it doesn't work out for you try Hot Rod pickups in Colchester. I have a set of Nighttrain PJ pups from there and they are fabulous. I also have a custom set of Jazz pups from HR too, just no Jazz to put them in!
@Sean, I've been looking at getting another P/J and going for the Nighttrain pickups - a useable tone from the P when I need it, and not too scooped?
14. All good with the Promethean! I'm not looking properly to be honest, just interested to hear opinions. Naturally curious I suppose :-)
15. Ah yes, I did see those threads - I should have looked more closely. The Handbox does look rather interesting I must say....
16. Can anyone help...?
17. As per the title, anyone had experience of both? Same sort of power, similar price, was wondering how they match up.
18. Withdrawn - it's too good to sell.
19. PM'd
20. PLEASE DELETE, Advert being redone My moving on of guitar equipment continues; it's a commitment to bass playing and trying in vain to make some space (my sizeable fancy dress collection has been relegated to the new shed, sad times). 2002 model from a very underrated British luthier. Twin humbuckers with a 3-way selector and coil tap; a host of highly usable sounds are available. It plays and sounds as good as my Les Paul; I really don't know why these aren't seen around much. There's a dink on the front near the left side of the bridge pickup, just visible in the photo. Aside from that it's in great condition (with no fret wear). Trials in Bristol most welcome of course; I'd be potentially interested in trades for bass equipment also. 21. It's easier than ever to ensure everyone stays informed. I have a busy job yet still manage to take a couple of minutes to update song suggestions and rehearsal dates on our shared Google Sheets. I do wonder if being a cluster**k like the drummer mentioned is a choice and he's being awkward for the sake of it. I'm sure you'll find someone more suitable.
22. Can't seem to find the price for the R400, Amy idea?
23. GK? My 700RB2 is rather versatile and I'm sure you'll find that or the 1001RB2 used online.
