  1. Seeing lots of great gear for sale coming into my social media feeds lately 🙈
  2. The TE Elf and the 1*10 Cab is a great little setup. the 2*08 version might give you a slightly better sound and not much extra in terms of additional weight or awkwardness.
  3. Yeah who’s the bestest tightwad ?
  4. I can’t imagine maintenance would not be allowed , surely it’s like getting strings or other replacement parts
  5. Anyone starting a 2023 thread so I can join it and fail miserably ?
  6. I only really use this amp rehearsing with a band or for gigs . The fan has a variable speed that ramps up whenever you dig in which is annoying if you pay attention to it, I guess you’re stuck with that compromise with such a small fan. I had a first gen Orange Terror bass that was much louder however. I think for the elf it’s a compromise I’m happy enough to live with for such as small and powerful amp.
  7. I played gigs with the LB30 and my barefaced 210. small gigs where the guitarists were only using those tiny orange things and the drummer played lightly and it was Just loud enough , sounded great to my ears but I’m realistic. It’s only a 30w amp no matter how those watts are made. I don’t think they intended the LB30 to be a giggling amp. I just really like the tone from it at home , no annoying fan sounds. It just has a lovely tone built into it . I’m sure it would sound great in a studio. One unintended bonus with this amp is that it works very well with guitar as a “platform” amp, ie it doesn’t have a big dirty gain stage but it sounds really warm and mellow with a guitar and at 30w plenty loud for guitar as a back up amp.
  8. I've a 2010 old model California VS (p bass) and a 2020 Basic (Stingray basically). I've owned an actual stingray and I prefer the Basic. Better balanced, not too heavy, and generally a warmer sounding bass, with more comfortable neck dimensions and overall better features. The 2010 California VS is also a great bass, my only slight fault is that the bass was a little sterile sounding to begin with. Those big polepiece pickups work great for an MM or bridge pickup, I just found that as a precision bass i wasn't able to get that punk p bass growl and it seemed a little bit too clean. I replaced the pickup with a Lollar Pbass90 and its a different beast now. I tried to get a replacement pickguard but Sandberg have washed their hands of the old model Californians. Overall the Sandberg basses I've owned are rock solid instruments, but be aware that sometimes they dont have the same tonal characteristics of the instruments they were based on. I know this thread was for TT4 , TM4 basses but I suspect my experiences are the same or similar across the range of instruments.
  9. I have that rig and my only regret is not getting the 208 cab instead of the 110.
  10. Due to *B* its a bit of hassle for sellers on Basschat in GB selling to me here in Ireland and that's certainly been a big help.
  11. If you sell that shorty fretless surely that's worth positive gear credits ??
  12. The Old models had a design problem with the output power section, they would just go pop but the fix was usually cheap, one or 2 component replacement and you were back in business. I thought they had sorted this in the new model ?
  13. I bought a Fender Precision 2 years ago, A Mex player, I think it cost about €750. Worth every penny IMO, a lovely looking, sounding and playing bass...and you always have the resale value.
  14. I failed miserably early on in the year with A Sandberg Basic 4, later I bought the TE Elf and eventually the 1*10 cab for it. On the other hand I sold an Ashdown CTM100, A Mayones Jabba4 and and a Schroeder 2*15 cab so I think I balanced the books...somewhat. I definitely intend no purchases in 2023.
  15. Yeah its a limited run in Ocean Turquoise they did a couple of years ago, not to be confused with Tidepool which is TOTALLY different 😅. Would definitely consider a player jazz bass in buttercream, its a lovely colour.
  16. Playing a mex player p bass at the moment strung with la Bella flats for my acoustic band set, can’t fault it at all. Great neck , tone , playability etc. the hardware is “ok”, not amazing but I won’t be changing anything because it all works fine. Good value for money imo.
  17. 2+2 headstocks . Used to think 4 in line or 3+1 were the only way to go . Now I really like the 2+2 headstock on my Sandberg basic with the smaller, more modern gotoh tuners. From a practical point of view it makes the bass a lot tidier and better balanced - imo
  18. Cool , I had one of the old ones , moved it on as it wasn’t getting much use. Great amps tho. Have they improved the EQ? That was tricky to get right .
  19. Pbass + flats + barefaced two10 + Little Bastard. A real jamerson setup
  20. Question: had a problem with a faulty speaker cable , I’m afraid my valve amp was probably running with no load for a few seconds . Everything seem ok now tho. Do you think I should get the amp checked out ? Is it possible I may have damaged the OT?
  21. Setup for cramped pub gig, note lack of pedal floor space 😂. (Listen you’re getting chorus for the whole song whether you like it or not) Great sounding rig tho .
