  1. 42mm nut, too. Damn, that looks like a nice option.
  2. I popped in to James Music in darkest Carmarthen today. Nice chaps behind the counter. I had a go on a Squier Jag in bright metallic orange. I think 32” is a great scale length! Unfortunately the neck is a little too narrow for my liking. It also felt a tad thicker front to back compared to my P bass. Reminded me a little of my mate’s Rickenbacker (though I only had a go on it once many moons ago, so that might not be a particularly accurate comparison). It was strung with clanky rounds, and there was some fret buzzing. The pickup was damn comfortable to rest my thumb on. The body is a great shape, and nicely compact. The orange is lovely in real life, too. If Squier (or Fender) brought out a medium scale version with a P width neck, I’d have one in a flash.
  3. Awesome!!
  4. That is lovely. I’m now looking for one 😂 Do you have a “before” pic?
  5. Bought mine from the first owner. I have never noticed that my tuners aren’t flush! They look like yours (OP). I had raised pole pieces under the A string but they did my head in so I swapped them for Toneriders. Also put a Kiogon loom in. I can’t remember if the original wiring was cloth covered or not. Original plate, loom & pickups buried in a box somewhere. Weight for mine is 3.9 kgs.
  6. Ooh, minty. Noice. You could do, but I would get the hacksaw out and keep the pups as-is. Different, innit.
  7. Here’s something Fendery with a two & a four underneath (off Pinterest). Mmmm, nice!
  8. Nice one @chyc! If I had loads of space/time/money, I’d do a pair of the MK3’s with a medium dark stain and use them as a monster of a hifi between gigs 😂
  9. The Four10 is 8 ohm. Pity, as that would look the nuts. A Two10 is switchable 12 or 4 ohms, so that would work, but won’t look as cool as the Four. Suppose you could put the Two10 on top of the amp flight case, then the amp on top of that? 😂
  10. That’s a lovely looking rig 👍
  11. This thread makes me want a headless Talman, too! 😂
  12. You’ve got a good eye for a restoration, Andy 👍
  13. The tuning bridge always seems a bit exposed on conversions, like it could easily get bashed hanging off the back of the body. I had a Hohner Jack headless (damn, why did I sell that again?) that had strap buttons either side of the tuners, so you could still lean it up against an amp etc.
  14. Yep! I got confuzzled 😂
  15. I’m pretty sure someone did a headless conversion on a Talman here. Lemme see if I can find it… Edit: Nope! I can’t 😂. Anyone else remember it, or am I making things up again?
  16. There was one in the classifieds here…
  17. Not the weekend as such, but just got in from a rare outing. Took a Zoom pedal for a little HPF & compression. No idea what it sounded like 🤪
  18. Hopefully they’ll sell it for £299 and I’ll buy it🤞🏻(or maybe @Ashdown Engineeringwill give me first dibs because they are so nice!)
  19. £299 seems like a very good deal. Too damn close to Christmas for me though! Absolutely love the sage green shorty I saw on Instagram.
  20. Oh, stinky poo! That’s a mess! Lake Placid Blue it is!
  21. Not much, I guess. Does it matter though?
  22. No info, sorry. That blue one is rather fetching though.
  23. If you refinished, it would be like a NBD. LPB would look nice with the maple. Or Olly white with a minty guard.
  24. Soo coool! Always wanted one of these.
