  1. Yeah, but whatever happened to the guitarist? 😀
  2. @BreadBincan't remember if I posted this elsewhere, but 25 Views of Worthing finally released their "lost" album. I knew Roger Hillier back in Watford. Sadly, Mark Sugden, their drummer, died a couple of years ago.
  3. @fleabagand anyone else who saw 64 Spoons back in the day, just turned this up on YouTube: Hope it brings back some memories!
  4. No worries, he did suggest I could make a long weekend of it and come out with around 500 quid, but I couldn't get it past the Mrs. I'm over 4 hours away!
  5. @Dom in Dorset I just put up an ad for my mates band needing an urgent dep over the jubilee, Paignton area. Std rock covers, paid, full diary. https://www.facebook.com/100000947492715/posts/7495235947184581/
  6. My old drummer from way back got in touch needing a bass player urgently. Busy covers band, nice chaps, too far away for me!: https://www.facebook.com/100000947492715/posts/7495235947184581/
  7. Your designs are always so tactile. I want to get greasy fingerprints all over them! (I'd clean em off, after, promise!) 😀
  8. I've not done any finishing, but there's loads of videos on Crimson Guitars channel, and they sell some lovely coloured stains too... I watch the videos for relaxation
  9. Sorry, I haven't managed to find the photos yet, may only have been on an old phone 😞
  10. Reminds me a bit of a Shergold Butcher block stripey guitar I saw once
  11. I'll be heading to the south coast, Paignton, specifically, if that's any use dropping off, meeting up etc.! Or just pop by to the gig at the Hyde Dendy on the front 😉 Saturday April 23rd
  12. I did have the circuit diagram, sketched out by a local luthier. I'll try to find it later
  13. A double neck Wal would save you a fortune in gym membership!
  14. I don't know if it is just mine, but I find the sound very aggressive and bright for a shortie, even with half rounds on I usually have the tone down to about 3/10. The reason I thought it could be just mine is that it's an fsr with ebony fingerboard, and I have a guitar with ebony board and that's also very bright sounding...
  15. Yes, mine did dive somewhat. I changed the machines for smaller (much nicer!) Gotoh ones and the balance is now neutral. The whole thing is now bang on 8lbs.
  16. @laurence birdhi there, I've only just seen this thread (tip, use @xxxxx next time!), but to answer, yes, the Truvox did work, with all the caveats outlined above. Acoustic instruments sound really nice, and the reverb is lush. As long as your expectations are realistic for bass use ( pretty quiet) and seal the box properly, you're good. I played around with customised settings on a tc spectracomp to help keep the cone under control which also helps get a bit more out of it too. Hope this helps! MBA
  17. Looking on their website, they have ready made fretless line markers too. Pretty dear, as they say the manufacturing yield is low.
