  1. The photographs and the item both leave me wondering why...
  2. I especially like how the roadworn front matches the immaculate back...
  3. Sure but Manton Customs has called Sandberg's reputation in to question with his comments and in the absence of a representative from Sandberg being able to defend them then I feel I have to question his sweeping and damning statement from his first post in the thread. Surely that is only fair?
  4. Funny, aren't you the same person that said no reputable manufacturer, luthier or tech would ever slot the zero fret. Maybe you don't consider Sandberg a reputable manufacturer. Oh well, it doesn't seem to be affecting their sales or reviews much. And having owned a Sandberg I can tell you they are one of the best playing and sounding instruments I've owned and the build quality is without question.
  5. You aren't replicating the nut though as the zero fret will be made with the same material as the other frets. Hence why I've always thought Warwicks sound best with the brass nuts to match the frets.
  6. Umm why not just take out the frets if you really to have the lowest action...
  7. Wow so how many humble pies am I ordering for everyone???😁
  8. Mate I know what I'm talking about. If you adjust the relief it alters the action at the nut. This is why you set the relief first whenever you setup a bass as it is the foundation of everything else.
  9. Every time I've owned a bass with a zero fret I've had to give it a setup which included reducing the relief. This then meant the height at the first fret has higher than it should be so I've filed the zero fret slightly to lower the action. Same as I would do to the nut if there was no zero fret.
  10. So you expect someone to just replace the zero fret everytime they want to change the action above the first fret? hmmm...
  11. I disagree. This is completely normal. It is exactly the same as filing the nut to set the action. In the case of basses with zero frets the nut merely holds the string in the correct position relative to the next string and it the edges of the fretboard. It will not set the height of the string from the first fret because the strings must contact the zero fret. Depending on the relief set and string gauges used, grooves will have to be cut in to the zero fret to correctly set the action at the first fret which typically should be about .022" or .559mm
  12. The body shape is hideous and seemingly without rhyme nor reason. I don't mind the headstock and it looks to at least have some decent hardware...
  13. Guess Korean made Warwick's suffer the same fate as the resale value of Chinese made Rockbasses and Warwick's in general...
  14. What about raising the pickups as Grangur suggested?
  15. I cant remember sorry, tried to find the sale thread but no luck. Here is a photo of mine if it helps(btw, they are just ridiculously great basses for the money. really fancy a NS-95 if I can find one and then upgrading the pups and pre): Actually, looking at my feedback thread, it seems I sold it to EAD:
  16. Actually one Spector and one SSD if I'm not mistaken... It's not my old one is it?
  17. I would like to help but I still have 2 of my own basses in bits awaiting refinish so no time for anyone else's. Gotta be plenty of actual pros nearby though?
  18. Definitely not a job of a professional. To give you an idea, below is the work of an avergae joe(me) with the first bass I ever restored: Its not perfect but it should give you an idea of what a professional should be capable of...
  19. Whatever happened to using a capital letter for the first word of a sentence?
  20. These are incredible instruments! There really is nothing else like a thumb NT! Especially a 5er and that B which is just so damn tight. The pup placement can take some getting used to but have you considered a thumb rest? I have a Streamer S1 5er as well and again it's a very special bass but the tones are not really comparable IMO
  21. would love to but not sure the mods would be thrilled about it...
  22. I think they should be named and shamed or at least have a section of the feedback forum where you can list serial offenders
  23. no worries mate, my reply could have been worded better too TBH. All good and apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread
  24. No i do not think that is ok as i stated in my original post. I am not happy that the seller has ommitted details especialy about the damage. Now that you have revealed the seller has a history of deceiving buyers I think ebay should be made aware and provide them with as much detail as possible to help build a case against the seller. However, I otherwise am happy for anyone to buy whatever they like and try and make money.
