    Hey, apologies for digressing ever so slightly from the OP...... which similarebpups would you put in an early 70's jazz for that growl...?

    Hiya, I'm no officianado but I was just reading another discussion on here where one chap suggested depressing the E string down pickguard side of the bridge, quite firmly to create a change in angle. This sets the string correctly into the saddle and "should" be done every time we change strings or change tuning. By the way, I have a similar issue with the first string. I always feel like it's sharper sounding and not like the other 3. I play a bit of slap too, I always have to try and stifle pops to make them percussive.

    My beloved jazz bass is for sale. Hardly playing bass anymore so here it is. Pots all 1966. Neck stamped December 66A. Pickups early January 1967. Body stamped ES. Original winds and cloth wiring. Beautiful clean neck. Fantastic condition all round. Working perfectly all round. Loads of fret. Excellent case with springs working. No keys. Many more pictures available. Please just ask if you need more. I have plenty standing by. 8.16 lbs in weight. Gorgeous tone. Absolute deadly bass. I originally bought this from Bass N Guitar in Paris who are experienced dealers snd can endorse the sale. The patina on it is fantastic. Viewings welcomed and recommended. Would consider trades for vintage Gibson acoustic guitar. Shipping possible if buyers organises it.

    Really really clean bass. Barely played. Alder body. Maple and rosewood neck. 43mm nut. 4.6kg 34” scale length. 23.625” radius. String spacing 16mm approx. All fully functional and present. Really versatile. Absolutely killer P Bass tone. Viewings absolutely welcome. Matkbass 310 at the ready. Really struggling to add the photos for some reason….. bare with me….!
