  1. Probably a mistake with the price of it......... I keep reading USA basses have hit the ceiling...............!!!!!
  2. Hello boys........ Lol......... I'll get some pics up tomorrow. I'm having a bass off too, to see if I can part with it. It was my first "real" bass..............
  3. I'm totally with you on this. Mrs Chewie will say " I've seen a new chair" and I'll say "Has it got any arms?"
  4. Hi Dave, They're Gotoh and they're fantastic. Slightly weighty compared to the original ones that were on it but they work and look the business.
  5. I've sold more gear this year than bought.......... I think. Best has to be my Squier jazz which I've done a few bits to. Different tuners, I've taken the shine off the poly finish, changed a capacitor and the pickguard and added a badass bridge. I seem to be going down a moddy kind of route at the moment. Worst thing was easily a Yamaha BB735a. I literally picked it up from the vendor and knew it was gone. I know this is sacrilege to many on here but I don't play in a band anymore and it just sounded insipid to me and was just a big lump with a flat fretboard.
  6. Seriously, a Precision bass with flats on it. x
  7. A soldering iron and digital scales for when every silly billy says "weight please....!"
  8. Must play one of these one day. I had a vintage version of this spec. GLWTS
  9. Imagine doing this with a band member..............?????
  10. Sorry to hear about the flexing........... that sucks.......... you wouldn't imagine that......... Get it insured and leave your front door open maybe?
  11. Crikey, what a GAS inducer this all is............!!!!! Love it though...........
  12. I'm not missing this next time.......... That jazz........ is it Burgundy Mist...........? Think that's my old Ashdown 15" on stage too........ lol.
  13. Hello again groovers, Please excuse the delay in getting the pictures up. This is no longer a "feeler" post but a definite "for sale" now but I'm changing the price to £1500. I know this looks like bad form but I feel the initial £1350 was very hasty on my part, considering what an animal of a bass it is, it's lovely condition and the trends in USA prices these days. On top of this, I've had so many offers above the "feeler" price that I'd be a numpty to honour my initial "feeler" price. I hope you all understand. Anyway, here they are. Gorgeous Stingray. Makes my hairs stand up every time I play it but I'm playing less and less bass these days and am hooked on electric and acoustic six string. I'm thinking about busking in my 60's. The only marks on it are so hard to photograph. There's a tiny dent below the g string mute, and an even tinier one on the headstock but I can't find it now. The pickguard has some wear from me but there's hardly any swirling ty[ical on a black poly body. Birdseye maple neck which glows. Serial number on the bridge. Mutes. 4.36kg which equates to 9.6 lbs. Truss rod works perfectly. These basses need no introduction. Absolute animal tone. Needs to be gigged and NEVER has been. Absolutely welcome over at the Chewie residence but I've got a little Roland CUBE here so bring a worthy amp if you're coming. I've got a Gert big garage. Kind regards to you all.
  14. Beautiful Strat for sale. All original. 3 way selector. Cloth wires. Beautiful nitro finish. Loads of character and checking. Nice dark fretboard. Beautiful, clean neck. I changed the pickguard for a "Charles Guitars" mint green one. Original one included obviously. There is the customary guitar stand reaction on the back. Even this just adds to its mojo and originality IMO. This is a gorgeous looking and sounding guitar. Way nicer than a custom shop in my opinion. Much cheaper too. More collectible too, for that matter. Original case with most of the candy. I also have the original bridge cover and tremolo arm. Case is good. Everything works. More than welcome to come and play it. I have a Roland here or bring your own amp. Price £1,750 I would also consider a gold top Les Paul in trade. Humbuckers not P90s. Located in Swindon, Wiltshire. Thank you for looking.
  15. Heys you’ve got to post some pictures now, Guy………
  16. Mate, that is top info, thank you…… I’m gonna look into it……
  17. Wow........! Ok...... learning all the time........... Have you had experience with that?
  18. It's great to hear everybody's take on it. For me, if that didn't have his initials scratched into it, I would've been thinking about going to view it. If it had been on the back, it wouldn't've bothered me half as much. How shallow is that? Deep enough to know I'm shallow. Nowt queerer than folk, as my dad would say. Merry Xmas everyone.
