1. It's time for a clearout of lots of basses that are surplus to requirements The prices quoted are what they are being advertised for in on-line sales media Basschatters are welcome to make sensible offers and will get first choice. More pic's / details on request. Please pm me Happy New Year to you all Les ================================================================= First up.. Status Series 2; 5 String Headless Bass with Status/Hiscox Hardcase - £1150 Immaculate Bass, hardly used. After years of wanting one of these, discovered it was not the sound I wanted. It has a Carbon bolt on neck and nice veneer Hohner B2 Headless Bass complete with Hohner Hard Case - £195 Not sure of the age of this, but I’ve owned it for about 12yrs and has spent most of that time in it’s case. Great sound and player. Used mostly for the occasional Local Jam. Ser No is 8859750 if that helps anyone. Passive ! Condition wise, a very clean tidy bass for it’s age with only polishing swirling to be seen. Forgot to mention, this on sale for £230 on Gumtree including a 'un-used' Ritter Gig Bag Mexican Fender Precision Special - £375 Jazz profile neck (fantastic). YES

Forgot to mention.... The reason I found & love Laklands... Chris plays them !!

YES

My first experiance of YES was in 1970, was told to go and see them by a music shop owner in Leyton, East London. Saw them at Barking Tech, Tony Kaye on keys. The Yes album had just been released and we rushed out to by it the next day. Could not believe a band could sound so good live ! Been hooked ever since. Probably seen them in excess of 50 times in the last 40 yrs ! Always dreamed of owning a Rickie, and got my first in 1972, a 1963 dot model, twin pick up Mono 4000. I so wish I kept it !! now have a 78. Have got my tickets for them in 2011, although I miss Jon & Rick, saw them a few weeks back in Southend. Rick made a comment that went over Jon's head, then Jon relised what Rick had said and cracked up mid song and had to stop to compose himself... a great night Chris is & will always be my hero, dispite the fact they he kicked Jon out of the band
4.
Would you be interested in a trade with a 2007 American Fender Jazz 75 Re-issue ??
Sorry mate.. I like my Lakies :-)

6. Pm's etc replied to.
7. Have GASsed after one of these Status's for years and picked this up at the beginning of the year and although at the time I really wanted another Lakie, I tried this.... which was fine until I picked up a 55-01 a few weeks back. Made me realise how much I love my Laklands... So back to looking for My Dream Bass. Ideally a Light Wood finish with a Maple Neck & Bart's. The S2 comes with the Status / Hiscox Hardcase and has had less that 10 hrs playing in my ownership. In fact it's never left the house. A real beauty both to look at and play. Will be sad to see it go, but my hearts elsewhere !! Up-date, Could not turn down a beautiful 55-02 on here, so this Drop Dead Gawjus... S2 5'er is now for sale. Looking for offers around a £1000.00, but will accept more if you offer ! lol

21.
I'm just down the road from there!! Pity I can't play yet
Well you can always use one of our practise rooms and blow your horn as loud as you like and I'm sure 'Big John' our resident guitar teacher would give you some help on the bass Les
22. Hi all, Sorry I've not caught this thread (and others) sooner, but in the last few months I've (and the rest of my band) have become the proud owners of some rehearsal studios........ Thats the good news. The bad news for most of you, is they are on CANVEY ISLAND !!! These are excellent, comfortable clean rooms and we are adding / up-grading them as funds permit. I would be prepaired to give FREE & Exculesive use of the building (The two main rooms) and two smaller 'Practice' rooms (mind your heads tho !!) Amble free parking and very easy access. No volume limits (within reason!) Providing someone is prepaired to organise etc, We will take care of the catering side depending on what bass chaters would want..... Tea's, Coffees, Cans, Cakes etc. We would need to cover the costs of that tho So if this venue is of interest for a Bass Day, please let me know This is a popular studio and is used by some 'very famous' people !!! Les www.islandstudio.co.uk
23. Had 7 Lakies so far (still have 3) and swear by them. I've never had a quality issue with them, although there was an neck alignment problem on a Skyline JO4 that I was not aware of until after I sold it !! The USA basses are much better than the Skylines, but NOT worth paying 3 or 4 times more unless your a label snob ! I got out-bid on a 55-01 on e-bay last week that went for £420 ( a steal) and theres a very nice 55-02 D/L on here for £800 ish, but be fast as I'm struggling to restrain myself. I bought a Status S2 5, two weeks ago in frustration at not being able to find a 55-02 !! Buy one... you wont be dissapointed
24. "Why is it that you always see the bass you're after when you're waiting for one to sell?" Why is it you always see the bass you really wanted a week after you buy your second choice !!! Dam Dam & Dam Anyone want an immaculate S2 Status 5 ?
