1. Well done to Charic for organising the whole thing - top marks chap. Great day had playing with peoples gear & putting names to faces, and Stag quite literally bringing the house down with charic's TC!
2. Oh my golly gosh!! This is one stunning bass! If I wasn't trying to save for a new car I'd be very tempted by this!
3. I can pay in advance as well.
4. I'll be there! Stag can give you lift if you still need it. Will bring - Precision Hartke amp Hartke 4.5
5. My band is full of ego's but luckily they are all in perfect balance with each other! We each have different roles in the band other than the instrument we play (eg, the drummer arranges gigs, I do the website etc) & we all get along just fine. It helps that we make an effort to go out for a curry every so often just as mates & air any grievances that we may have.
6.
Life's too short to put up with crap like that. I'd tell them where to stick it. If they do value you, they'll ask you to reconsider and it'll serve as a wake-up call to them. If they don't care either way you're much better off starting your own band or joining another.
+1 If they're your mates & they value you as a band member they'll apologise & ask you back. If they don't then tell them to ram it & go form another band with people who do value you.
7. I wanted to be a guitarist after hearing Mark Knopflers solo on Sultans of Swing from the Alchemy live album, but after 10 years attempting to play more than 3 chords (and failing miserably), fellow BC'er Stag suggested I try bass instead. 5 years later and I'm gigging every weekend (but still can only play 3 chords on guitar)!
8. I made it clear on the very first date with Mrs Cat that I gig pretty much every weekend as well as rehearse once a week & she accepts that she if she wants to be with me she has to share me with the band!! TBH she's never complained & is not the sort to ask the question in the first place. Besides I think she enjoys telling people she's dating a rock star!
9. Big Hartke fan here. I use a Hartke rig & find that most of the time it matches up to Ampeg - and a hell of a lot cheaper!

Never met him but enjoyed his posts. Will be a big loss to BC. RIP OldGit.
11. I have just bought one of these! Gigged with if for the first time last night and it really is the dogs doodaa's!! A very good warm sound (not unlike the Trace Elliott V-Type) and packs a lot of punch when the volume goes up. Even the drummer looked a little scared!! The only negatives (if any) as mentioned above: No speakon connections (although I've never used speakon) They are a bit heavy (although not back-breakingly heavy) All in all, this is probably the best amp you can get for under £300.
12. In order to help fund my recent GAS problems I am selling my East Coast Jazz bass. This was only bought a couple of months ago and was just used as a backup for a couple of gigs until I was able to replace it with the Squire precision. The guitar was £129 new and I have replaced the original strings with a set of Elite Player nickel wound strings, and changed the white s/p to a black one (looks marginally cooler!). This isn't really the sort of bass you want to be gigging every weekend with (hence price!), but would make a good backup or beginners bass. Will be including a Fender gig bag. Would prefer collection or local delivery but postage could be arranged (probably be about £10-£15). Price drop - now only £55!!
13.
Just 4 basses? Didn't think that was possible
Brilliant!!!
14. That is one gorgeous looking bass! I can feel GAS coming on........!
15. Yup, its a very nice little amp, I almost want to keep it but I have no need for two (plus I need the money)!
16. As I am now the proud owner of a TE V-type (loving the valves!), I now need to sell off my old amp which was purchased from fellow Basschatter Stagletto last year. It is a Trace Elliot AH-300 SMC, which has the following features: >7-band graphic EQ >Balanced D.I. output >Active/Passive inputs >Duel Band Compression >Cigarette burns on top (courtesy of Stagletto!) I don't have the original manual for it but I do have a copy downloaded from the interweb. There are no problems with it at all (other than the fag burns mentioned above), it plays and sounds very nice indeed! I used it for about a dozen gigs without any issues, and Stagletto had it for years before me (not sure how many years but I can check). It had a repair done on it just before I bought it which was a faulty component causing the mosfets to keep blowing, this was fixed and has worked perfectly well ever since (this was in September 2009). I'm looking for £175 for it. Collection would be preferred but I'm sure delivery could be arranged. Pics below - I've tried to show the fag burns as best I can!
