I can't help but feel it would look a lot better without a scratchplate.

https://reverb.com/item/6212937-maestro-bb-1-bass-brassmaster-1972 Brass? Am I missing something here? Probably not at that eye watering price.

If I'd only kept my dad's old winklepickers. Also wouldn't last five minutes on the floor with our bull in a china shop keyboard player in close proximity.

20 Greatest British Rock Bands
Zummerbass replied to hiram.k.hackenbacker's topic in General Discussion
A nonsense of a list, Quo,Dire Straits,Deep Purple,Muse, and the afore mentioned Motorhead and Iron Maiden not on there and The Smiths are? Not really a rock list is it? -
Thanks for the advice chaps. The other obvious thing I guess is try my TCE gear with another 210 or maybe 212/115 for comparison purposes.
-
I currently run a TCE Staccato 51 head into a RS210 cab. Great for small venues, for bigger gigs I add my Purple Chili 115 underneath. I'm happy with that but...would be nice to finally have two matching cabs! So... Do I get a PC 210t and keep lighter cabs (maybe not such a good match for TC head?) Or another RS cab? 115 or 212. Heavier but well matched.

A few years back the trio I was playing in were approached post gig by a very attractive brunette lady-"You're such a great band! Brilliant guitar, fantastic drums (to me) I don't really know what you do..."

I've had my jap Jazz brand new since 1998. I still own every bass I've bought except one,my first bass,a Squier Jazz in midnight blue.

I'm looking to fill in a few gaps in my regular cover bands gig diary. I have 20 yrs gigging in various genres under my belt, tiny pubs to festivals, rough dives to posh functions. I have good pro level gear and reliable transport. Not really looking for originals bands or metal. I'm based nr Taunton. Andy

Could be useful for a (Han) solo.

Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone Chorus pedal - Opinions?
Zummerbass replied to Osiris's topic in Effects
I bought one recently, first order was returned as it was way too noisey. EH quality control has been the subject of one or two online debates... It has a nice old school sound going on,not a great deal of variety but does what I require of it well. It has a well thought out tone control set up a la Boss Bass chorus pedal which emphasises the effect on the high end and reduces it on the low end. -
Not tempted here. £450-500 might make it a good investment but £759? No.
-
I make the point of making at least one mistake everytime I gig. I'm nothing if not consistent.
-
As a natural sounding o/d pedal it's great. I sometimes wish it had a little more gain but that probably defeat the whole point of it.

How to get the best out of valve pre amps in amplifiers
Zummerbass replied to la bam's topic in Amps and Cabs
My Carvin R600's preamp valve works best between 10-2 o'clock, adding a nice warm edge. On the other hand output control best at 3 o clock, anything beyond that is stupidly loud. -
I tried the SRH500F and the SRF700 quite recently. Very impressed with the latter, initially daunting, but once I got past that-wow! Huge range of tones, very playable. SRH500F- to me,visually a bit dull looking. As noted, heavier than it looks.
