There are all sorts of worse ways the government is AND could spend such money.
In the olden days no one blinked at music education budgets which nationally would easily surpass this. If we think education is expensive, consider the other option.
The reality is, if they say no, find the £140 Specsavers will charge you and do it anyway. You can play with strings that are not super fresh, you cannot play with ears that are not super fresh.
They want evidence of your work so that is links to youtube vids, soundcloud PPL number, PRS number etc. Filling in the form takes 5 mins. The worst they can say is no.
