I would never try to impose my moral values on another adult. Heeheehee. I am interested to hear how longer term owners of this feature feel about it too. For me, an LED based set of side markers would be perfect... if not for having to remember to carry spare batteries. On an active bass it wouldn't be much extra to remember, yet I would rather keep some consistency between my lot. Like you, I would prefer not to have to carry a special torch. It more than cancels out the advantage of having no battery for the side dots if you still need to remember to carry both the torch and its batteries.

Do you like them? More importantly, are they useful on stage?

Given that you are marketing CF necks elsewhere on the forum, I will assume you have good knowledge of the resins and matting that are used with this composite material. On aircraft. electrical bonding of panels with conductive straps is essential to conduct lightning strikes away from critical systems. How conductive are those panels (in this case, the rails) if manufactured from CF when compared with glass fibre reinforced resin?

One thing that I do like is the use of rolling saddles. It makes more sense to me than having rollers built into the nut on a conventionally strung bass.

I suppose you can still pitch bend behind the nut but it doesn't look as easy as with a Status like bend well. Short-sighted? As previously pointed out, those tuners are just asking to be damaged. Needs improvement. Pass.

It's a good half step forward Rob. Lots of claims are made about 3d printing with plastics. The big drawback seems to be - plastic. It's fine for a lot of things but very poor at one or two. I've followed your progress with great interest and the thing that is becoming apparent is that it is ideal for development of complex designs and so forth but not really suited to production. Also, you are having to use materials other than plastic to make your guitars work. It complicates things somewhat. The overall designs are exotic and versatile but the modular approach to assembly is an obvious issue as is how to make the finish a little less plasticky. It's a tough nut to crack but I have every confidence in you to persevere.

If they deliver, keep both. Unless they've made you sign an agreement to return the original of course.
