1. IMO, a strong contender for best album ever put to tape. London Calling will always have a special place in my heart, and is still hugely relevant to me despite being born in the early 90s. And yes, great basslines to boot.
 2. Welcome from Birmingham, UK Ralf! You'll find many a P here
 3. I used one of these for a year's worth of live shows and two EPs and can safely say they're superb (not just for the money!). GLWTS!
 4. Protest the Hero - Pacific Myth is mine. Bizarrely it looks like Kanye is going to be in the number 2 slot. Life of Pablo was an absolute mess but I love it.
 5. Probably Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse. More of a bass guitarist than a bassist but unbelievably proficient (and a lovely guy to boot). +1 also for Tony Levin's playing on 'So' - really takes that record to another level imo. Also anything Les Claypool because, well. He's awesome.
 6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
 7. I own a Yamaha RBX800. Cost me the princely sum of £200 preowned and has beaten out my Warwick Dolphin Pro II for live use. It just sounds incredibly good and although I prefer the neck on the Dolphin, the tone of the Yammy can't be denied!
 8. I've got a Yamaha Pacifica 112V up on the classifieds for £140 incl. postage to UK. Like others have said above, in my opinion, the best guitar you can buy for £150 second hand. Drop me a PM if interested and I'll send over some more info and pics!
 9. I'll get some up on here tomorrow. Let me know if you're interested, Evil Undead, and I'll send some via email too
 10. Feel free to make me an offer on this guitar. It really is a superb instrument and comes packaged to the nth degree anywhere in the UK
 11. I usually just bring one bass to a gig with me but am going to start bringing a spare (for back-up reasons, as previously mentioned by many). I think using two instruments live is sometimes a luxury but is also important sonically depending on context. For eg. a strat and a tele are very different and in our songs, one is clearly more suited than the other. Bass-wise, I use a similar tone for each song so having (and using) two basses would be more of a luxury-move than an essential one. All depends on what type of music you play, how worried you are about string breaks etc. That said, I can't see a downside to having a back-up instrument at every show, just in case.
 12. Thanks MBA! I really rate them too. Unfortunately need the money and spend too much time playing bass these days.
 13. *£140 INCL.SHIPPING TO UK* Today, I have for sale a Yamaha 112V (Natural Finish) in great condition. No major dings or scrapes. The only minor issue is that the tone knob is missing, but you can easily find a replacement for pennies. Whammy bar, instruction manual etc included. Will be shipped in its original box for £140 anywhere in mainland UK These guitars are incredible and I'm only selling mine because, since moving to bass, it doesn't get the full attention it deserves. These retail at £230-240 new so grab yourself one for £100 less! I'll be uploading some pictures in due course and specs are below:

Body: Solid alder
Neck: Maple
Construction: Bolt-on
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Frets: 22

Bridge: Vintage-style tremolo with block Saddles
Pickups: 2 single-coil and Alnico V magnet humbucker
Pickup switch: 5-Position with humbucker coil-splitting
Controls: Master volume, master tone
Hardware: Metal "Dome" knobs
Pick Guard: 3-Ply white/black/white
Scale Length: 25-1/2" (648mm)
Fretboard radius: 13-3/4" (350mm)
Please PM if interested! Cheers!
 14.
No problem, cool. Just to reiterate, to all beware of "joinabanditis". Only entertain opportunities that are a match for you personally. Blue
I agree with you there Blue. Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole isn't the wisest option. Personally, I'm in a situation with my originals band where we all have an equal, democratic say, but the final call is often made by the guitar player or myself. We're all aware of the direction we'd heading in, and any disagreements are sorted out in the rehearsal room before they become real issues. My point is that, to reiterate what Blue said, if you're not the 'right' person for the job (ability + personality + all the other stuff), then it's going to be a lot less fun and beneficial.
 15. I like that bass solo - very Cliff Burton-esque to have that in there. Personally if I was arranging it for two guitars, here's what I'd do: I'd have the second guitar harmonise with the first section of the bass solo (the slower part) Then have the bass play the faster tapping section on its own, but have the second guitar underneath with a more bouncy type rhythm like you have in the LE-PO-RE-LO part.
 16. I love my basses but a bit of honest wear and tear is fine by me. I'd never buy anything actively relic'd, but I like the idea of minor damage if there's a story behind it. I'm not a fan of things that are beaten up because it looks cool - it seems to be the fashion really (ie. pubs which are opened with 'pub wear' already present).
 17. Bump. Will be going on eBay in the next few weeks so hit me up for a brilliant guitar at a bargain price
 18. Before this week, I'd have said my bass, but I had the misfortune of playing through the most horrendous cab ever a couple of days ago. It was a Laney 4×10 and I couldn't get a good sound out of it for toffee. Zero depth. So yes, the answer for me is cab.
 19. I own a Warwick Dolphin Pro II and despite not having a tonne of experience with high-end Warwicks, it does definitely sound like a Warwick (as confirmed by several, more knowledgeable friends) Different to the usual Warwick's, it has a thin ash body & maple neck (so IMO the wood isn't the main contributor here). It does however use the same 3D bridge, brass frets, nut, wenge fingerboard MEC pups and pickup placement (bridge p-up way back) of many of their higher end instruments. I'd be inclined to say it's mostly the placement of the pickups (rather than the type) which makes the most difference.
 20. Les Claypool without a doubt. Sailing the Seas of Cheese. Also that riff at the start of Megadeth's Peace Sells was always a highlight for me.
