1. Maple all the way, i prefer it to the rosewood board i had on mim jazz
2. sold Stewart a red t/shell pbass scratchplate, paid within mins top bloke
3. I have a mij p pass from the same era and i havent had any probs in that dept, although i've just replaced the pup with a wizard thumper and it now sounds soooo much better than before. I think i read somewhere once that if you up the gauge of string it can help in that dept either that or raise the pickup so its closer to the string?

7. Having read Peter's review of the booster i decided a few weeks ago to take the plunge and put one in my mid 80's mij fender P, to cut a long story short i ran out of wire when installing it and had to strip all the controls from the bass as i had some recording to do, fast forward a few weeks via my LGS and i have got my Pbass back today with a wizard thumper pup, stacked vol/tone and villex booster installed and i must say i have struggled to put the bass down since i got back from picking it up, i went with a stacked 500k pot and the extended treble has brought the bass to life in a way and i have found all 3 boost positions very pleasing to the ear and like Peter i'm loving position 3 on the booster with the tone fully open. It is a great piece of kit and for the money i'm well impressed with the versatility my bass now has to offer. Nice one Villex
How annoying, not long ago I had a MIJ P bass from the 80s with maple fretboard that I wanted to offload, and I want a LMII, ended up just selling the bass.
And I'm glad you did decide to sell the bass have a free bump on me

12. Flame me now but there is a behringer copy of the FZ-2, blatant rip of IIRC, maybe a cheap option and if its any good rehouse it?
13. I've had a go on the smaller practice combo and thought it was good enough for the cash (I likes the marshal sound), although not seen the bigger ones yet but for £279 doesnt seem bad for a 300w expandable combo.
14.
there is a mod to raise the output of the sansamp..
Ahhhhh Any links on how to do it or who does?
15.
Yes, works just fine - although you'll either need the newer version with the higher (line level) output, a sensitive power amp input or something to boost the level if it's the older version.
cheers for that, if its an older one i get would something like a MXR micro amp or such other booster in the chain after the BDDI be sufficent?
16. Dunno if this is in the right place but here goes, well i've had a go of a sansamp bddi and i like the tone i get from it, and was wondering if anyone had used it with a poweramp and used it to either reherse or practice with? It seems like a good back saving/space saving idea to me or am i talking rubbish? Help
17. Well after recently having a long hard think about my basses and in search of my sound I sold off my two basses and picked this up from thedontcarebear. Its a 86/87 MIJ fender precision bass, I added the black scratchplate as I'm a sucker for sunburst/black combos and its now strung with D'Addario half rounds (55-110). Bass wise I'm 100% gass free for the moment, although a matching jazz would be rather tempting and one of it as i received it,
