1. I've got the non-backrest version, it's very stable (the best stand i've had by far). I have used the other type and that was good too, but there's no need for the rest. The clamp mechanism broke on mine but it still holds my bass tight (one arm stays shut) It's also the only stand i've had that held my dear departed RD Artist so will work with TBirds and pointy basses
2. Anyone else tempted to stick a bid of £1199 on it? Preferably someone who has that in the bank in case he's lowered the reserve....
3. I think this pedal needs a tuner with a mute switch, i could pretty much do away with my pedalboard then!
4. +1 on the Corvette. Nice deep neck (mine's an 02 i think) which has never given me troubles. There's an esp. nice ltd edition on here at the moment too, buy that so i stop looking at it!
5. Ouch! Our singer had a similar thing happen with a Planet Waves strap. It's a big, thick leather strap with straplocks for me every time
6. Agreed, i paid under that for a USA Big Muff including delivery!
7. That was quick! Here's a linky to the original thread with pics and clips on it: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...9&hl=bogdan And you're the fourth owner, this pedal gets about a bit! Quality unit though, nice and neat and loads of tasty fuzzy drive
8. PXed some pedals, top guy to deal with!
9. Easy transaction, thanks bud!
10. Bought his Stereo Electric Mistress after many months of looking, thanks!
11. Sold me an much loved/used Aphex pedal for a bargain price, definitely a keeper (the pedal i mean). Thanks again!
12. Sold him my Bogdan Helter Skelter, again top blokeness!
13. Bought a Small Stone and all is well, although i'm selling it cos i've got an Electric Mistress! It was lovely though!
14. Got a nice USB audio interface for a very good price, a true gent too!
15. Can't see a stacked pot so i assume this is passive. Massive chunk of bass for the money btw, Corvettes are always bargains but this is rock bottom price esp. considering it's the Bubinga bodied version. Don't expect this to be around long!
16. I've just received the Hartke strings today, 2 sets for £20 delivered. The seller sent me some free sweets too!
17.
£1.99 + £4.99 postage
Free BASS PICK in every pack though!
18. The DODs are good for the money (around £25 second hand). They can be excellent in the highs but very indistinct in the lows. Basically i liked mine and could get a few cool sounds out of it, but it sounded nothing like Chilis records which was what i bought it for! Another thing to watch out for if volume drop when the effect is on. This rendered it nearly unusable on my Warwick but was ok on a Musicman and a Squire I found the two envelope settings on the Boss SYB-3 Synth pedal better than the Dod, much smoother and clearer.
19. My missus bought a similar trolley for carting all her shopping about when she injured her shoulder, it had 3 wheels on each side for going up stairs and kerbs , it was ace! Hers also had a tartan cover for the authentic mad-old-woman look Would these do? 20. Always been able to get through the drummers noise, something that wasn't always possible with my old stack! We have a very loud drummer too, with one of those old Premier kits that were designed before most bands miced up the kit
21. I use a LMII head and a Schroeder 1212r cab. Can carry the head in a bag and my bass and cab in either hand! It's loud enough for every gig i've done with it including some big halls and i prefer it to a combo EDIT: This cab looks like a very good option if you're in the market http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=42827
22. I have had quite a few jazzes and i liked them all! I don't get on with Ps though... Try a few Squiers, from the Standards up to the VM et al. I've got a Standard and it's the nuts! I can get four or five really good, different sounds out of it. Really good slap sound too. Try rolling a little off the bridge pickup with the tone just nudging 30%, that's my usual fingerstyle setting for 80% of our stuff. Dunno what everyone else is on about RE not getting classic Jazz sounds, all mine have done the job apart from my Warmoth which is a totally different beasty
23. Yeah it went to me, might be back on sale though as i don't have an immediate use for it. Ya want first dibs?
24.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260357457874
I've used these on my spare bass before, Cash Converters sell them for £4. They're pretty good (better than rotos!), i'd gig them if i was short on cash. I had a set on my Squier for a bit and while they were never overly bright to begin with they didn't deteriorate as quickly as some other strings i've used.
