I'm pretty sure they used to be a lot more informative and beneficial - educational even! Now you watch them and they drag on, after a few minutes you forget what the video was supposed to be about while Scott eats his cornflakes and tells you what his favourite Ikea shelving unit is. I unsubscribed a while ago without any fuss, no hate for the guy or anything. Just seems like a decent resource for players has soured a little.

This is why I stopped watching his videos, you get to the halfway stage and he's still waffling on about something completely irrelevant and uninteresting.

Do you have to poke strings through that wooden block every time you remove them or does it release them somehow? If it's the former then I'd bin that feature off, looks nice but would be a PITA. Otherwise stunning instruments though. Like another poster said I'd go piezo only and fretless, the overall aesthetic would suit less clutter IMO.

Can't really see how paying £140 for a heavy budget 4x10 is good value if where you live has any sort of 2nd hand market, fair enough for the guy above who struggles finding cabs. You can buy a used Hartke/Ashdown equivalent for less which will hold it's value - there's a frickin' Eden Nemesis 4x10 in the FS section for £70, an Ashdown 2x10 for £80 and a Mi12 for £100. The 1x15 and 2x10 had a shop floor price of £129, not exactly a massive discount seeing as these have been sat in a warehouse for 8 years. The used one on here sold for £40 in 2014 apparently......

I use a right angled jack with mine, just use the standard locking IEC cable it came with and never had a problem. When it's in use you can put your hand underneath and feel if there is any pressure on the cable and there's barely any which is good enough for me. I can understand not wanting even a slight bit of pressure with a jack or XLR cable as they are more prone to breaking but with an IEC lead it's overthinking things a little.

A lot of amateur custom basses seem to have those badly cut bits of DVD cases for control plates, I guess you could say it compliments the c0ck-eyed lines of the body? I've had another look and I think my parents had a wardrobe made of that exact wood when I was a kid. EDIT- What "c0ck-eyed" is picked up by the swear filter? I guess this site is racist against northerners now, be banning whippets and racing pigeons next.

I think a couple of these creations have been posted here before. I quite like the wonky-looking Westone type one for some reason, it rides that fine line between completely janky and a recognisable bass.

Btw (straying into OT) the dep guy has one of the clearest sounding kits I've ever heard, a Mapex jobby but dunno what the snare was. Acoustically it's spot on - each drum has it's own little space in the sonic spectrum and I don't think our sound guy knew what to do with it other than to eq the kick and leave the rest alone. Can see how he gets loads of work! Top drummer too, really adaptive and fluid as well as being a nice bloke. I usually dread dep drummers but he was great.

I wouldn't discount the HD32A that CameronJ uses, that's kinda the RCF equivalent to the QSC K12.2 in terms of size and weight. It's all about that voice coil on the HF unit really, IIRC (going off the MkIV versions) the 745 has a 4" voice coil, the HD32A and the 735 have a 3" one. Either will be great. FWIW I've been using the K10.2 in an increasingly loud live situation recently due to our drummer having hearing loss and our stage sound creeping up rapidly which has resulted in me pumping the little QSC far more than I ever intended to and it's coped with it easily. It's an amazing little thing which just seems to keep on going. Our drummer is currently out of action while his ears are dealt with and the dep we had last Friday was loving the bass sound coming from the K10.2 so make of that what you will. He's a pro player who mainly does musicals/theatre work and deps for some of the top bands in our area. Not a quiet drummer, loudish kit but clean with lots of sonic space (no wallowing) if you know what I mean. TLDR: I have no fear of cranking the volume with the k10.2!

Definitely chase them up about the free bag, they aint cheap. I'm a bit peeved at all you lot getting discounted K series cabs with free bags, I paid more to buy a used cab and seperate bag! The RCF 735 is extremely capable, you can put a full band through a pair of them for small to medium size gigs with no subs so they're possibly a bit overkill for personal monitoring. Seriously you'll barely tickle it even on a pretty loud stage, it will do whatever you need from it with absolute ease and the low end will be thumping but crystal clear. I think the QSCs are more compact and look nicer on stage though, I use the K10.2 and it's a very handy size when it comes to monitor placement, it's much smaller and more wedge-like than our RCF 735 cabs and is much easier to find a place for on a stage. From memory the K12.2 is a similar size to some of the RCF cabs.

I use the instrument level input on the QSC K10.2 from the amp output on the Fishman, works fine for me.

Seller is a complete idiot for requesting Paypal on a collection item, sooner or later they'll be the target of a scammer who will pick the item up and then start an item not received claim. Seeing as he can't prove they took it (Paypal won't accept videos etc) and the buyer can prove they paid him he will lose every time. Although it's usually a scam associated with phones leaving yourself open like that just on the off chance someone wastes your time is a massive risk.

Correct choice - piezo bridge and nylon coated strings is wasted on a fretted bass! Where is the LR Baggs clone preamp from? Fancy one of those for my Sinsonido.

We got our RCF tops off a Facebook group and the matching subs came from eBay, a lot of the stuff on FB seems to be low end DJ gear around here though so you might have to sort through some rubbish.

Definitely consider Sire however £500 is used Lakland Skyline territory. Both of those have great necks which are outstanding for their price tags. Maybe one of the higher end Cort GB series.

Don't know really, I haven't done a gig sans PA in over a decade. I usually have the volume on my preamp pedal between 9 and 11 o'clock and it's more than loud enough for any stage I need to play, some are ballroom sized stages and some are pubs.
