1. Ok so had a good few hours with this last night sadly, I was using a new put together rig for one bad, which consisted of a Selmer Treble & Bass 50 mk3 into a Matamp 8x10. There just isn't the headroom or low end on this amp setup to really enjoy the pedal, I mean it does some nice things but not the room moving rumble. moral of the story is don't make a 50w valve head from the 60's drive 8 speakers and then try and make it do some sub 35hz malarkey. Then on to next band practice and a fuse blew in my amp, great start, hadn't even plugged in the Beef Bag yet, but that did mean I got to plug into the PA with our 800w 1x18 power sub It just sounded great, the smoothest octaver I've ever had (I know that's not what it is but you can get that vibe). I found myself reworking bits of songs so I could play them an octave up so that I could throw this into the mix. Tonally it's quieter (noise wise) than the Meatbox I had but it's got that gnarly vibe to it, I can't imagine with how much I love this that I'd like the Hulk to much, I expect it would be a bit too clean for my grindy sensibilities. In terms of clips, it's really hard to record these pedals they are so low, they are just moving air and shaking walls, and it just doesn't come across when sat at home. I've got some gigs coming up where I'll have a nice big PA to use so it's definitely going on the board and I can't wait to shake some rooms
2. It's not going to be as good as you think, that's pretty much all I can say on it really
3. Hmmm gets me all hot and bothered
4. Yeah they sold all 10 in preorder
5. Not played other Mantic pedals but I've had a Dod Meatbox before, I'm trying to get to play this at somepoint, will likely have a good blast over the weekend. These are a production model but limited to 10 as an exact clone of the Meatbox while the Hulk is a bit cleaner in it's sound apparently, I was always a fan of the dirtier meatbox distortion you get with the lower octave
6. Pffft refined, why would you want that
7. Looks it The rest.... no idea
8. Additionally the nanos will not increase in value like the big boxes will, that's how I'm looking at fx now, toys that are slight investments so less boutique more vintage
9. Pffft only before it was cool to be one
10. I'm still gonna get a big box one
11. All those great subs and then the thumpinator to remove them *shakes head*
12. Well mine arrived.
13.
Yeah, i'd happily own all 4 of those
Said the same thing and I'm up to my eyes in fuzz already
14. I can confirm it's not an SQ, no skunk stripe and no truss cap in dark wood
15. And if it's not?
16. If a JV fender had the serial number JV99829 could someone tell me the exact date it was made? Or does it not work that way, I believe it's a 1984 but unsure how from the info I have other than these were 82-84 made. Cheers
17. I'll take this PM me the payment details cheers.
18.
For a filter try the Boomstick Bottomfeeder, pretty much a bass version clone of the Dod 440. It's a great little filter, very musical - easy to dial in a thick subby tone. Works well with fuzz too There's one for sale in the effects section at the moment, my old one. I ended up buying another one after selling mine, because I missed it so much!
Still my fav filter ever
19. Exactly or do you
20. If anyone gots a speare tugbar they don't want you know where I am, mine didn't come with one
21. You selling the mini?
