  1. 1st outcome - no bass - a different bass not bought because of 1st bass deal in pipeline 2nd outcome - no gig - another gig/event whatever turned down because of first gig deal in pipeline End result of both - nothing gained, something lost Crystal
  2. And that’s relatively obtuse. A different scenario with similar principles was given where an opportunity was lost, that’s the point. If that point can’t be seen then there is no point, point of fact.
  3. Thats hardly like for like Serious rebuttal
  4. What about a scenario where you are booked to play a gig at a venue, turn down other gigs/family events etc. Because of doing this gig. Venue turns around and says last minute they don’t want you to play. Similar scenario/ different scenario? No money has been lost and no children or animals hurt in this episode. Would the win some/lose some idea still apply? Purely Devils advocate here, no axe to grind.
  5. Even during this CITES thing and until it’s lifted, just tell them it’s Pau Ferro - doubt the customs officers know the difference
  6. Benefit of something like TransferWise is that, the currency conversion rate is good, but also you can use your credit card as the means for money transfer to their account and this further decreases the risk
  7. Creamery Pick ups are without doubt one of the best around
  8. Dave mate, sorry to hear about that, it happens, hopefully not that frequently, but it’s a right pizzer esp when you have your heart on something. Me mam always said every disappointment happens for a reason, a little snorter will be waiting for you, and the bass you missed out on probably smelt of cats wee
  9. Ingot that from a mate who I was sending things to in Hungary. For him, in that particular country he said it was the only courier to trust, and I have used it for 2 bases, 1 amp, 1 pedal board with pedals. And a solitary pedal no problems. Different couriers May well be better in other places
  10. I have done some guitar deals in Hungary with no problems. Transferwise for payments DPD for delivery as it stays with 1 courier. Also done pedals etc to other European destinations, Germany mainly. I think the key is to use a carrier that does point to point for the relevant country
  11. It’s a beauty and so easy good work
  12. Ah ok Could have been a work around but alas
  13. Current doubler cable, use 2 12v ports off a PSU. Used to do that to get 18v for the Cali Compressor
  14. @Reaper never say no, I was trying to reduce number preamps - who knows why, I generally fail.....
  15. Cool flash me a DM Lets see!
  16. I learnt following the videos posted here, so there you go!
  17. I am by no means a pro, but do my own set ups. I am in Bristol - happy to help if you are passing and we can get a mutually convenient time
  18. Couldn’t give a dogs pecker about the switch, got me vol knob on me bass for that, and XLR vs 1/4 it’s all nuts - it’s balanced, that’s the key, plus it makes sense as it doubles as a headphone socket so that’s space efficiency especially when you look at the link and see how clever that have been with space. I think this will bloody rule
  19. Sense spoken above. You can make your own shims easily enough, or...... https://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Bodies_and_Necks_and_Wood/Electric_Bass_Bodies_and_Necks_and_Wood/Bass_Necks/StewMac_Neck_Shims_for_Bass.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=2019-09-gp&pref_currency=P&shipcalc=UK&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2K3rBRDiARIsAOFSW_4SWhSBrI1gAh9OydOZkyuoH_90ZihKJHDSE0G0rcx_BbCY4AZGq-saAo-hEALw_wcB
  20. So to clarify the California range, essentially all the ‘expensive’ range is all done in Germany. Some woods may come outside the country, eg if they use Canadian Hard Rock maple, other exotic woods etc. BUT it is all cut, glued, shaped, plekd, painted, finished etc in Germany. The tuning keys I think are made in another country, the Sandberg pick ups are not wound in the factory, but they are designed but Sandberg to their specs and made elsewhere. The Electra range is manufactured in the Far East, BUT the parts are shipped back to Germany and all assembly and testing is done in Germany and final QC in the same factory as everything else, hence the lower cost. To intensive purposes it’s all pretty much Germany and in house before it goes out to market. Hope that helps - and they are fantastic basses
  21. Yep I started using these exact same videos and still use them, only difference being I have brought the action down slightly using the saddles, or if I run out of room I shim the pocket to achieve what I want, but the principles here are very very sound and if you follow and still get no joy, You will not have damaged the bass for a tech to take over
  22. For others info - even if not new and bought second hand - Sandberg are very very helpful
  23. I take it you have straightened/bowed the neck to taste with the truss rod? That can be done alongside an angled shim to get the desired shape, or indeed a gentle file down could do it
  24. Looks good why not just switch the chrome jack cover for a black one, costs peanuts, or get just with a sharpie
  25. I’d always bring the cables I need, and prob a spare. regarding lack of aux in, there is a work around, but it depends on how it’s wired I gleaned this from the web Whether it will work or not depends upon how the loop is wired. Either the send or return must be switched for a series loop to function properly. Often the Return is switched but the Send is not. This allows the Send to be used as an Aux out. In contrast, if the Send is switched but the Return is not, you can use the Return as an Aux input and it will not interrupt the sound coming from the preamp. Even better if there is a Return Level control to allow volume adjustments.
