I know, hence why i posted Fender-ish, meaning i wasnt sure of the model. Perhaps i should have said something Fender. Shoot me
  2. Its also one of Clive Button's designs , just to add a bit of useless info

  4. A shout out to Entwistle pickups, but the one's i used to have were the Neo set, and they seem to be missing on his website these days. Seconded on the Warman pickups. I still have their MM pickup in a draw somewhere, that i fitted in my Vintage MM bass in place of the Wilkinson but pulled the Warman out when i sold the bass

Just found this by accident, and of course it's Tears For Fears Curt Smith and daughter Diva doing a lockdown rendition of Mad World. She's very competent , and a very appropriate track right now
  8. Its worth £6 just to find out. Not much of a loss if they turn out to be nothing but ropes
  9. Dear cliff ! Outrageous I was climbing trees and throwing sticky berries at peoples windows at that age.
  10. Is it possible that the battery lived in the control panel rather than having its own compartment ? Is there's room for a battery , if so, maybe that's where it lived. Unless of course it was never active in the first place ?
  11. Sounds like you could easily convert it back to active rather than replace the pickups.
  12. For me its Stevie by a short head
  13. Mick, the mods would have deleted his post because of the public offer.
  14. I pefer his hat
  15. Speaker size is no barometer for old school low end or any low end for that matter. Neither is it any guide for 10's being tight in the mids
  16. As some one mentioned in this thread a few decades ago, i think James is a qualified cheese farmer and has been for some time. I've seen his guitars in the flesh at my pal Bob Pimm's house, ( RP GUITARS ) as Bob has worked on James' axes
  17. Hilarious - thanks for that.
  18. I've owned 2 classic shapes ( part T-Bird ish some call them ) First one i bought in the early 2000's , single Armstrong pickup, about 1984 ish and passive ( first classics used Bill Lawrence pups ) and paid approx £350-£400 , exact price eludes me cos it was nigh on 20 years ago. Dear cliff the prices have changed !! Also, up to early this year, i owned classic deluxe ii , so it had a fancy Silky Oak top, pair of Armstrong pickups active. £1800. !!! Now sold The circuit on these have a dual filter for each pickup.
  19. I should have said, i'm happy to drive 40-45 miles radius in any direction , possibly to a services, or whatever, for free.
