  1. I can think of so many quips here, that i cant choose
  2. Lovely looking and sounding bass, and i speak from experience because i own an SB900. My electronics layout is different to yours, but maybe its because yours is the Batwing headstock and mine is a slightly later Open Book headstock. Like you i had Armstrong replicas built, but by Aaron, not Kent and it was both pickups in my case
  3. I forgot about Rapid, but have now got what i want from CPC. I had to order 5 of the 01.uf caps , because they were only 5p each Strangely, they had no 0.083uf caps, so ordered a 0.068uf, and that on its own was £1.07p ... weird price difference
  4. Cheat I'll try CPC Farnell - they have millions of bits of electronics, including a monstrous amount of caps
  5. Will do, but where the hell do you buy one cap ? ( or 2 in my case )
  6. Thanks chaps, yes maybe try an .083 as well as an 0.1
  7. A little extra reading seems to indicate that 473 just means yer bog standard 0.47uf ? So, i'm guessing, but i may try a 0.83uf or 0.10uf
  8. Could a lectronix guru ID this tone cap, pretty please? Basically, its not bleeding enough treble off, and i was thinking of replacing it. Which means, could i have a recommendation of which value cap to use ? The pot is an A500k TY !!
  9. Trying to think of where i've seen that odd headstock before - was it Cliff Bordwell basses ?
  10. I'd say 50%
  11. Personal taste is a pointless debate
  12. CPC Farnell have an asbo lootley huge stock of pots. https://cpc.farnell.com/c/electronic-electrical-components/resistors/potentiometers-trimmers-accessories
  13. They failed some kind of test out there, due mainly to frequencies or something
  14. Well its nice to see Ashdown bucking the tiresome trend of building P and J basses copies
  15. Yes, but a wide strap negates any weight very nicely. I found my 4" strap makes light of this bass
  16. You cant beat a wide one. I have a 4" monster and with a width like that, you dont need padding. I accidently left a gig once with the bass still hanging off my shoulder because i forgot it was there. For the uninitiated, this is what 4" looks like
  17. Good price too.
  18. Funnyily enough, i loved the Xvives for the 2 years i used them. They never missed a beat, never dropped out and i think i only had to re-scan them once in the those 2 years, so it was a bit dissppointing to find they wouldnt charge up. And i think i paid £114 when the first came out ( Silver Mk 1) so not much cheaper than the G75 today, although i believe the G75's have come down in price a lot due to the problems with Germany
  19. No worries. You can get it out with Optrex
  20. Already posted
  21. Due to my Xvives no longer accepting a charge after 2 years of use, i'm not going to buy another set of any type like that again. Cant change the internal batteries. Bluddy scam, so bought a G75 My G75 is winging its way to me as i type and i've pre-emptied some purchases, like a right angle jack adapter so the supplied transmitter guitar jack doesnt stick out like something waiting to get snapped off. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Right-Angle-Guitar-Cable-Adaptor-Conventer-1-4-Male-to-Female-Mono-Chrome/202635499674?hash=item2f2e04589a:g:yakAAOSwW0tcmTzt Also, another pre-emptive strike was ordering a 5M barrel type power cable, so i can have the receiver on my amp and run the power from my pedal board brick. Luckily i have one spare 500ma socket ( G75 needs 350ma ) Ebay was no good for this cable as they didnt seem to have any longer than 1M https://www.kenable.co.uk/en/cctv-security/cctv-cables-reels/9408-21mm-x-55mm-dc-connector-lead-male-to-male-power-cable-1m-009408-5055383494088.html The only stumbling block at the mo is a decent pouch for the transmitter, but my strap is a 4" monster, and its pretty much that width all the way along, so pouches designed for guitar straps are no good. I may have something at home that i can rig up. Camera accessories have lots of funny looking pouches that may work, and i seem to have cupboards full of camera accessories. Might get lucky
  22. Yeah, that was what i was trying to say but didnt Mixed ages works fine.
  23. I'd take a wild guess and say a bass builder of Adamovic's experience and quality, dont make headstocks as an ' afterthought '
  24. I think the bigger age differences matters less as you get past a certain age. A 20 year difference in our band works ok, because the youngest is mid 40's. If the band had the youngest member at 20, i doubt whether anyone 40 years or older would get a look in
  25. Indeed but i still stuck a waiver in, just in case
