  1. I'm planning to build a 2x 12 bass cab. I've got a delimma , sealed bass cab or ported. I found some information that ported gives better frequency response and sealed may sound muddy but have more low end. I thought ported cabs give more low end. I've got a Fender rumble 100 and it's ported and the bottom end is deep, but with a 15 inch speaker. I'm looking for an overall solution maybe geared towards mid frequencies? I'm not into technical frequency graph response charts as they mean nothing to me. The question is sealed or ported? Any suggestions please?
  2. Don't know what's worse, the music or the fight
  3. I bought Hotone Thunder Bass mini 5w amp from Paul. Great Comms, fast delivery and through packaging. Thanks

    Pickups

It depends what you want from the sound. I fitted Matt Freeman signature bass with Seymour Duncan Steve Harris Sig pickups. They made the bass sound, well like close to Steve's tone, so I put back the stock pickups.
  5. I did not click on the link, but if he plays what's in the link picture, I would not call it a bass.

I'd buy Oasis catalogue, 99 pence
  7. Has anyone mentioned Tom Araya?
  8. Does this amp makes a pop sound when switched on or off?
  9. I was going to suggest Jethro Tull but unsure if he plays recorder?
  10. Ride the Lighting- Metallica
  11. So what's the bass line in ...and Justice for All album? Did Lars have it muted to an inaudible level because Jason would have dominated the low end with his incredible bass playing or was Lars still mourning Cliff.
  12. I think my lawn mower has a sticker on it it's 95 dB, I better check. On the serious note, whenever I go to a gig I take earplugs especially arena or stadium gigs. Surely it's easy to trip the meter if a playing band has punters in the background then add all other sounds such as general talking, serving drink, door slamming and walking etc. That dB meter will not give accurate reading unless you play in a totally sound proved chamber. The venue probably doesn't care and they don't even have a clue how dB works and sound waves travel etc. Have you considered showing them some scientific research on dB to prove your point?
  13. I have previously struggled to choose a picture so a quick Lego build shoved between house plants and a snap will do I thought. There is a panda, monkey and a turtle with a parrot in the background. So the choice is yours. Many, many interpretations. Happy composing.
  14. Thanks chums, I'll get a pic over sometime today.
  15. 1990 playing a Jolana Bass at age 16. I sold it a year later to buy a Rick copy which I mutated. I'd like to get this one back
  16. Is this still available?

  18. Any good for metal? Seriously , just wipe a slice of dry toast through them.
  19. I always found listening to this album that guitars tortured the speakers. Although I'd listen to in on tapes back in days, I own the CD version and it's no different. After Reload I didn't bother listening to any new Metallica release. For me it's the first 3 albums then black album. And for the sake of the discussion, Jason was the best bass player in Metallica followed by Cliff.
  20. I worked hard all my life and I reached the stage in my life when I can afford and buy things I need, not things I want. Regardles, I'm being reasonable. Although I'd like or want a particular bass, but don't need it as other basses can do the same thing.
  21. I thought Dave Murray grew up in Clapton, but looking up in Google he was born in Edmonton and his family moved around London.
  22. Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath Or You Suffer by Napalm Death, the song is only 3 seconds long
  23. I've build two more bass traps today and mounted them to the walls. Roast dinner, rubbish TV, copious amount of Ale and some Jura whiskey. now watching Jools Holland not a big deal..
