    Kaldgrass. What do I win?
  2. I ended up joining on the 11th May ... 2015, like @Lozz196 to sell a bass, as I never was a forum guy, so never wanted to register, but it looks like I've become one, at least here, for some reason. Great forum I must admit.
  3. Nope as the paper will certainly stick and remain partially on the strings. 😉 An old T-shirt is perfect.
  4. C'est un forum anglais où l'anglais est la langue à utiliser, me semble-t-il, non... ?
  5. In fact, they sound like the Thomastik JF, without the high price tag and their super smooth touch, and with more tension, of course.
  6. Yes, isopropyl alcohol will work, but beware with nitrocellulosic paint as it will damage it. It's better to wipe the strings with a cotton cloth as paper will certainly leave some residues, especially on round wounds. There are packs of alcohol wipes, certainly what the Ernie Balls are, but they are always more expensive than the usual bottle and cloth.
  7. You know you could be banned for having showed this... Nice work, that said and I like some Béla Fleck from time to time. 😉
  8. Sounds very promising, except with the Full Circle... The electric bass sounds good too through this amp. Following this with great interest.
  9. For those wanting a graphite neck at a silly price, here is a 26 frets Moses Jazz Bass neck and you can even get a whole bass including an original Kahler tremolo for ... 500 Euros. https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/jb-bass-mit-carbonhals.61515/
  10. A funny anecdote: As, back then, nobody wanted a Wal anymore, I traded my MkI fretless for a fretted Trace Elliot T-Bass (excellent bass) and I should have kept it, I mean the Trace Elliot, not the Wal even if they are highly overpriced these days.
  11. You can also add Acacia (I owned one) and David King (I owned two) basses.
  12. Indeed, but it's not up to the quality of sound of an original and I've owned each and every model (fretted, fretless, 4 and 5 in all iterations) along the years. 😉
  13. That said, the original Ibanez Affirma (AFR) designed by the late Rolph Spuler is becoming rarer these days.
  14. https://snarenshop.nl/rotosound-sbl110-losse-bassnaar-110.html https://www.muziker.ie/rotosound-sbl-110 Both have them in stock.
  15. Or turned them into firewood.
  16. I truly think intonating the G string will be a problem with modern strings that are far better crafted nowadays than when it was designed, and especially with todays round wound strings. It was designed to take into account the poorly made flat wound strings of that period...

Yep, and it's often the case with everything as these items seem to be reviewed by small people for that reason, to make you think they are bigger than expected. 😉 Enjoy your new toy. 😊
  18. There was a fretless Atlansia for sale on here not long ago, was tempted... The Kleins do appear from time to time, and each time, I want to buy one, but don't.
  19. The Zon Hyperbass is on my wanted list... I tried a brand new one around 30 years ago and I really liked it, but not its price tag...
  20. Yep, they are rare, but not to the level they are supposed to be, think Wishbass with a truss rod, so a very expensive lamp... And don't read what Ken Smith says about him, even if they shared the basement workshop for some time, I don't know who is the more selfish.
  21. Not so rare, I had a few and sold them here before Breakshít.
