Hi, I've been looking for one of these for a while, did it colour your sound at all when the pedal wasn't on? Just I see the new ones say 'true bypass' and was wondering if there's any difference. I use the older model multicomp already and find that pretty good. Allan
Hi Allan, I noticed it did boost the signal slightly when in line (bass-IQ-Amp), but have notice no affect to the tone. -
Are you using the TC cabs as well? If so, how is the finish on the cabs standing up? I saw some in GuitarGuitar (Newcastle) and they were pretty scuffed just through being in the shop.
I have an RS210 and have only used it on a couple of gigs due to mostly using other cabs. I can see how they would mark easily so best use a cover for transportation. I actually like the sound of these cabs. If it were not for owning a couple of other cabs that I'm happy with I would get a second RS210, but for the reason I'm not using it so much it is in the For Sale section.

I've been gigging an RH450 for several months now and very pleased with it. Can't really add much more to whats been said. It certainly has been designed with the gigging player in mind and once you know your way round the amp it is so easy to use on the fly. One thing a lot of people don't realise is you can change the centre frequencies of the eq, bit like a parametric thing going on for each eq control. Only just started playing with this but opens up more possibilities from what is already a great little amp.
What about the above quotes moaning about the hiss.....?
I was referring to amp heads and the known reliability issues of the earlier models. The jury is still out on whats causing this. Interestingly almost every amp I've played through in my garage has had an intermittent hiss now and again. Something to do with an appliance automatically going on and off in the house, maybe washing machine/central heating, I don't know. Never quite looked into it. Its there for a minute the goes away, then returns for a minute. Never been there on a gig.
Having been a long long time user of Tech SS/Tecamp products.... I can honestly say that their cabinets are pretty decent but their electronics are a bit hit and miss....... to say the least
I think thats true of the earlier amps up to what ended as Tech Soundsystems, but the Puma line is a completely different amp to what came before and have heard nothing negative about them so far. I still want a Puma 1000. Anyone selling ?
I always fond that tv work is so over rehearsed
Usually is the case although one job springs to mind that was not... Did the Pebble Mill at One program years ago backing some Australian folky type singer. Had the tape prior and learnt the 2 original songs, one opening the show and the other ending, all live playing. About an hour prior to going out on live TV she mentioned the 3 part harmony (not involving her) opening the first song. Most of the band, like myself, knew nothing about this. Looking on playback it could have been worse if not for the studio audience clapping at the opening credits drowning most of the vocals out.
Any views with anyone on how the M212 will handle a Shuttle 9.0?!
Never used any of the Shuttle series amps but I did own a Neo-Pak for several months on recommendation from a friend. Don't know how similar these amps are from Genz but with a lot of eq fiddling I just could not get a nice tone in combination with my Tech 4x10. Too transparent with not a lot of punch is the only way I can describe it. I just put it down to a mismatch of gear. The Shuttle 9 is probably a very different beast but thought I should mention that. Any other amp I used with my Tech/Tecamp cabs over the years has been fine.... TC, Markbass, EBS, Warwick Quad. SWR. Re Covers. I ordered 2 covers for my S212 and M212 from Roqsolid (think thats the name). About £40 each and good quality. They should be listed on their site. The dimensions I gave are slightly larger than the cabs as I didn't want too tight a fit. Will be half the price of the Tecamp covers I would think.

Hi all, I've decided I would like to try a lefty acoustic upright so considering letting my Bassix Tech EUB go at £600.00 to fund that. Comes with gigbag. These are £995 new. Bought new summer 2008 and apart from home use has been used on 3 gigs for a little light dinner music. All composite and made by Bassix of Kent. Pin and rest are removable for easy transportation. Any questions please ask. Based in Bromley, South London.
despite phoning GG this morning to check that the 2x12 combo was definitely sold!
I did the same thing this morning as I would have had a 2x12 combo if available, but needed to make sure. The only other item I would have gone for is the Puma 1000, but not listed. Guess it would have been around the £500/600 mark if it had been. Will be interesting to see what people make of the various items when they arrive as like any amplification it won't be to everyones taste, but fantastic prices for quality gear in my opinion.

I use a TC RH450 and find thats fine for on-stage sound and small venues Best source of info is the Tecamp thread on Talkbass as already mentioned.
Update - gone with the one M212 that was left. Asked KJung (?) on Tbass about the 3 options I had, and he said the M212 all the way.
I think Ken uses a couple of earlier front ported S212 and is very happy with that, but the M212 has a slightly bigger sound and a little darker. Both the S212 and M212 are fine cabs in my opinion and can't imagine anyone being disappointed at these prices. Interestingly I had both cabs at one point and sold the M212 in favour of the S212 only for the reason that the S212 was more than adequate for what I needed as a standalone backline cab with the main band, and just that little easier to carry. When I need more volumn I still have one of Doods old Tech Soundsystem 4x10s. If not I would have bought the 4x10 advertised for £399 yesterday.
but ive read some unpositive reviews on the new S212....mind you that doesnt mean a thing nowadays..could have been a duff unit.
From what I've read I understand the newer rear port S212 have had a couple of issues. I think these will be the front ported models like mine, as the Performer amp on the same page is no longer produced, but best check with the store. I've gigged my S212 with a TC RH450 for 5 months now with no problem.
Hmmm....I really don't know whether to just get a mega cheap 2x12 thats uber light or the 2x10 combo now! The 2x10 is a better value deal....but the 2x12 cab is 4 ohms and my LM3 would be great with it. Its also the Small version, which is what Id want ideally.
An S212 with the LM3 would make a cracking lightweight rig I think. Having said that, if the Puma 500 head is easily removable on the combo, that is a bargain at £499 alone. I would have jumped at a 2x12 combo at that price if there were any left.

Hi All, I have a couple of oversea function gigs coming up in december and don't want to take anything of great value so looking for a cheapy but playable left handed 4 string, around the £50/60 mark. Happy to collect for cash in the Greater London or South East area. They may be laying on instruments so could be playing a right hander upside down as I've done in the past but not looking likely at the moment. About to start looking on Ebay so will have sorted something I'm sure within a couple of weeks but thought I'd try here first.
