what's in that rig ?
It's a TC RH450 head into a Tecamp S212 (4 ohm). I have an EBS Octabass in line which I find pretty useful for some things at the moment.
I'm finding that cab to be way louder onstage than anything else I've played through
For it's weight and size it is pretty impressive.

Did a jazzyish gig in the Bobby Moore Suite at Wembley last night. Thank god for lightweight bass gear as a bit of a trek getting to the stage due to security etc. Using the Jazz Deluxe through this rig sounded perfect, although the volumn we were playing at I could have done with a combo half the size.

Somewhere around the mid 90's I was going direct into one channel of a Trace Elliot stereo power amp using a Warwick Thumb. Sounded fine, but that was probably an exception.

Jam nights in the Sidup/ Chislehurst area

Don't know much about it but only 5 minutes drive from me so could be up for meeting there. -
The characteristics of the sound are very similar, very SWR. The mids are a bit more detailed and it sounds punchier overall. If you like the SWR sound you're going to love the headlite. I'm impressed the most by how loud it is and the feature set, it's got more EQ control than most of the SWR range.
Wish you hadn't said that. Looks like I'll have to check it out once it hits the shops.

Up for sale is my Tecamp S212, lightweight 2x12 Bass Cab. Purchased new May 2009. Comes with Roqsolid cover. Full spec of the cab can be found HERE but the basics are 600 watts, 4 ohms, 41lbs so super lightweight for a loud and punchy 2x12 cab. Only 17" wide, 29.5" high. This is the popular front ported model and purchased just before Tecamp went rear ported on this model. There are a couple of very minor marks in places but overall in very good condition. The pictures were taken today (26.10). Originally had this for sale at £500 but now reduced to £450.00. Ideally looking for cash on collection but could be interested in trades for left handed basses or high end amps (EBS, TC Elec). Thanks for looking.

If anyone has purchased the Super Synth and decides it's not for them, please let me know as I'm looking to buy one in the next few weeks.

Love the look of that head. Additional poweramp is a neat idea as well to beef the power if needed. Although happy with my TC, this is one of the few new micro amps I could be tempted to try, along with the rumoured EBS mini head (if it ever happens). Always like the sound of SWR amps but not keen on their cabs of past.

Picked this up towards the end of last year as a bit of an impulse buy but have since decided it's not for me as I favour my other basses at this time. I'm the second owner but original owner hardly played it, so in excellent condition with no sign of wear. 2009 model. Build quality and finish is as good as any bass I've seen. Used on a gig last night and soundwise very versatile. Eq effective but simple to use. Zingy slap is covered down to thick punchy Rock tones. Looking for £900 which is about half price of a new one. Spector charge 10% extra for lefties. No case but I can supply a gigbag. Thanks for looking.
Swap you the Spector for my Sandberg stealth California jj
I remember admiring your Sandberg before. If a 5 string I may have been interested. Want to get a couple more gigs under my belt with the Spector first but it may end up for trade, you never know.

This is my current batch, apart from my travelling Ibanez, Aria Semi, and Bassix EUB. Clover 5 Graphite neck-thru. Not really a fan of red basses but a nice piece of flame maple, small body, narrow neck and perfect balance makes up for that. This is the bass that Martin Petersen modelled his SEI Original on. Fender US Jazz Deluxe. An all black Jazz is what I like. A maple board plus a 5th string would have been perfect but can't have everything. I'm using this for most gigs at this time. Just so easy to play with a very low playable action. May go down the Audere preamp route at some point but like the sound as it is for now. Spector Euro 5LX. Picked this up used but it has hardly been played. Red tint again although not as bright as the Clover. Construction and finish on this bass is top class. Love the sound and a pleasure to play but not sure if a stayer at this time. Will see.
interested in how the amp sounds through that TecAmp.
Very different to the TC cabs. There is a part of me tonewise that prefers this amp with an RS210 (never tries a RS212 alone) but the RS210 breaks up just when the S212 is asking for more, plus the Tecamp is at its best when being driven I think. Only use this setup as backline or small club type gigs. My Tech Soundsystems 4x10 comes out for any other gig and that comes closer to having 2 x RS210s, being a little more punchy and tighter.

May have posted this somewhere before, not sure. This is what I've been using for most gigs near on 7 months now, RH450+S212. Tend to favour my Jazz Deluxe at the moment (no mods as yet) and love the sound. Someone did say they felt the RH450 was voiced with a jazz in mind. Having said that my Clover graphite 5 and Spector LX5 sound wonderful to.
I use the padded cover that TC produce and they work out at £19 each, Bargain compared to others
TC, like many companies could have so easily taken the P*** with the cost of accessories. Ok, the amps and footpedal are not cheap. Cabs are reasonably priced within the market (and sound better than many IMO). You can cover a complete TC rig for £60 with TC covers.

I had an RS210 up till recently and really liked the sound of it with my RH450. Very clear and punchy springs to mind. When I bought the RH450 I checked it out at the Bonners store with the 210+212 and was very impressed. Cabs are a perfect match for the amp I think, and so they should be. The only reason I sold mine one was due to it not getting any significant use. The 210 in many cases was not capable of delivering enough volumn for me (although can hold its own against most 2x10s). I play in a 9 piece, drums one side, electric guitar the other. 3 singers, brass and keys coming through the front monitors. Very easy for a 2x10 to get lost with all that coming at you, even for just backline. If I had owned the 2x12 then I guess I would be happy with that as I mostly use my Tecamp S212 at this time. I'm currently in bass aquasition mode so may look into an RS212 springtime next year and see how that compares to the Tecamp. If it works out then another RS210 later to add for the bigger gigs. One highlight worth mentioning is the RS cabs HF driver. Very subtle but effective. Not at all harsh.

I've an almost new lefty Spector Euro LX5 on it's way to me for a very good price. I notice a couple of people have mentioned changing the preamp but what is the main reason for this, mainly down to the lack of mid frequency control ?
-
I've also been thinking of something like this for a while but have been advised to wait for the Markbass Supersynth. Seems initial tryouts at music fairs have been very positive and thats before Markbass had completed programming. Also has a very usable octaver I understand and the tracking is meant to be excellent.
if you buy the head w/o the pedal you're losing out on the versatility of the unit to a large extent. Not only is the tuner much less user friendly but the tonal variations and level of tubesim are either there or not there.
I agree, but my thinking is that £700 for the amp, the gigbag and pedal can be had for around £20 and £100, makes that near £80 less than the package price quoted. I have the pedal and take it out on maybe 50% of gigs depending what what the gig is and what bass I'm using. Never bought the gigbag as I keep the amp/pedal along with my leads and bits in one of those handy aluminium cases from DIY shops. Thomann were doing the gigbag for £18 a few months back.
-
I got mine from Bonners for £700 new and a couple of other shops were matching that when I phones around, so no need to pay more than that just for the amp. TC are now making the cabs with a different covering to what most shops currently have in stock (does not mark so easy), so anyone ordering a new TC cab make sure its with the new finish.

I think it'll be fine. Nothing wrong with Mustang Sally. Don't like it as a song so much but when done with people you enjoy playing with and it grooves then fine. Being Corporate I guess the alcohol consumption will be high which is in most bands favour. Slightly off topic but showing how different you can be on the Corporate/Wedding scene (as in stage clothes etc), check out the Bogus Brothers. Was on the same bill as them last year and they went down a storm. One of the busiest bands on the circuit.
