1.
It obviously had enough volume to cut through the drums then?
For this type of laid back gig it did and I still had some volumn to spare. Pleasantly surprised. Wouldn't dream of using it in a normal band environment as in your average pub gig etc as it would get lost but as Doddy points out there is the 100.
2. Just thought I would share my experiance soundwise of a gig I did yesterday. Did another one for Club Wembley. Managed to get good seats when not playing and see the match for free, but thats another story. So I decided to take my Roland Cube 30 as my usual lightweight rig was overkill for the volumn this band need to play at. I could not believe the sound I was getting. Unmodified US Jazz Deluxe into the Cube. Used the TE model setting which is meant to be a Trace I understand. Virtually all tones set flat on the bass and amp with a little compression on the cube. It was kicking for all styles. But what impressed me most was when we played more jazz orientated tunes. The bass was singing on those swing lines, high and low. This was alongside a live drummer, keys and vocals. We did DI and was coming through the ceiling speakers close to the back of the room but this was not obvoius at all on stage. So any electric jazzers should maybe consider a cube30. Can be had for £70-£80 used. Compare that to the high-end mini combo prices. Worth checking out. Only downside I could see was the lack on onboard DI out but other than that I was well impressed.
3. Bump to £400 plus postage.
4. Updated with some better pictures.
5.
Are you interested in a straight swap for a Markbass Little Mark II?
Hi, Ideally looking for a straight sale at the moment but thanks for the offer.
6.
Don't evilBay it, this seems to be a hell of a lot of bass for the money. Any more details on this? Also, some more pictures would go down a treat, especially with me. How does it play? Any noise issues? How's the neck? Is it neck-thru (i.e. pics from the back?)? How's the hardware? What's the state of the fredboard like? Any significant wear? It looks like it could use a little TLC, with some lemon oil (which I would be more than happy to administer by the way ). Any dings in the body? Etc etc etc. Also I'm in Kent as well (Maidstone), is meeting up/drop off an option? Sorry for all the questions, do feel more than welcome to PM me. Cheers mate. Craig.
Hi Craig, I'll probably take some more pictures anyway (as these are a bit dark) if I Ebay it so will post on here before doing so. Really don't know much about this bass. There are a couple of reviews on Harmony Central which may be helpful. Plays nice. Could do with a setup I guess but plays fine to me as it is in my lefty style. No noise issues from what I can make out. Roll off the highs and a nice thick punchy fretless. As I said the strings could be improved on. Bolt-on. I'm guessing no more than 3 years old as the amp I bought with it is about that age and I understand it was all purchased together. Almost zero wear. No fretboard wear. The couple of minor marks on body are from just sitting around doing nothing. Will include in pictures. PM me your email address and I'll forward those. Sure we can arrange something if you want it re meeting. Thanks Alan
7. Soon to go on Ebay (rather not) Bump.
8. Been told this morning my Head Gasket needs replacing so open to reasonable offers.
9. Hi All. Picked this up as part of a trade/purchase on some gear outside of Basschat but have no use for this as I'm a lefty. Would keep it otherwise. My son who is a keen guitarist was interested so originally was going to keep for him but the interest was short lived. Don't know much about the bass but is made in Indonesia. Has the brand name Palmer B-05. Currently trying to find more info. Appears to have hardly been played when I got it but has very minor marks just on the body. Passive Vol/Vol/Tone. Small body, not at all bulky. Neck is nice to play. A suprisingly nice tone although the strings are probably original and could do with something of better quality. No gigbag I'm afraid. Was looking for close to £80 but open to non-silly offers. Guessing postage will be around £20.00. Thanks for looking.
10. Easter Monday Bump.
11. That's a good one. Never read it that way as I was typing but now so obvious. Keeping that in mind and reading some of my description is a laugh a second.
12. Having a change round of gear at the moment so am considering letting my Eden WT405 go. In very good condition. Comes with rack ears. Runs stable at 2 ohms (620w), 405w into 4 ohms. It's a loud little beast. Excellent on-board DBX compressor. Don't know how they did it but capable of a very warm valve like tone and not a valve in sight. Here is a link to the specs..... Eden WT405 Great for modern and old school. Looking for £450.00.
13. Suitable for live use or home practice. Bass/Guitar/Keys. Heavy duty but folds near flat so easy to transport. Backrest, seat and footrest height are all adjustable. Total height as in picture is 95cm. Has never been gigged so in good/stable condition. Looking for £45.00. Cash on collection from Bromley (BR1 2RU). Not really cost effective to post I'm afraid. Thanks for looking.
14. Forgot I had these.... bump at £30.00 including postage.
15. Hi All, After some serious thought I am considering moving this on. Purchased new back in summer 09, I have really enjoyed using this amp and may consider another one later down the line if I get the urge. Absolutely no issues and comes with original packaging. Looking for £700.00 including postage within UK. This is the best picture I have at the moment but will do some more detailed images later this week. Thanks for looking.
16.
Probably better off putting this in the for sale area. 100 seems quite steep as most people get a deal taking the pedal with the amp.
Already in the For Sale section and on checking street prices I think your right, so have decided to include the amp as well.... for a little more.
17. Sorry for hijacking the thread but I have a TC RC4 pedal for sale as I rarely us it with the amp. Comes with lead and original packaging. Not sure of current new price but I'm thinking £100 including postage.
18. I only ever used this on the first few gigs of purchasing but find I rarely use it now so thinking about moving it on. In great condition and comes with cable and original packaging. Looking for £100 including postage.
19. If still available in a few days I could be interested. Also based in Bromley.
20.
Is there such a thing as an "anti-leftie"?
Unfortunately there are right handed players with very strong opinions as evidenced by previous threads on the subject. Thank god we are not burnt at the stake anymore. I can see a couple of forum members lining up with their lit torches, plus the abnoxious guy from the Bass Cellar who I had an argument with on this very subject in his shop a while back. All i said was 'have you any high end left handed 5 strings in stock'. As Andy (leftybassman392) said, plenty of info out there.
21. Someone is looking to make a quick profit I think.
22. Here we go again! It always amazes me that anyone who has the ability to play right handed guitar or bass just doesn't get it. Just waiting for the usual anti lefties from previous threads to jump onboard now. With regards to other instruments..... The piano is not such an issue with the keys laid out in front of you. There are a lot of true left handed players who never took up the violin in a true lefty fashion because the option was never there, so you rarely see them. If I never had the option to play a left handed bass I probably would have bought a right hander a turned it upside down. I am envious of those people that can play a right handed instrument in a right handed manner but my brain does not work that way.
