1. Thanks folks. Second one dimensions look like Fender?
2. Thanks folks. I'm tempted to get one, paint it and see if I can make a decent job of it, before buying any of the rest of the hardware. That way all I'm out is time, paint and 30 quid. Would be nice to know if the neck pocket looks approximately right though.
3. Fancy building myself a franken P bass. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153544967873 Some cheap, reasonable bodies out there. Chances of a standard Fender/Squier/Warmoth neck fitting? I was thinking of getting a body, painting and if it looked pretty, building up into a bass and didn't fancy investing the time if the end result might not fit or intonate properly...
4. Price now lowered to £800 for this fantastic quality bass.
5. Looking to sell my beloved 1995 Fender Jazz 75 reissue. I've owned it since new, and it's in immaculate condition. I'm in Cheshire, near Manchester Airport. Not looking for trades. This is one of the MIJ models with amazing QC and it one of the nicest jazz basses you'll find. It has a legendary John East J-Retro preamp which has been fitted since new - back in the day when I had to call John himself to order them from the US! This gives incredible versatility of sound with stacked controls that blend pickups, give active bass and treble boost/cut and also a sweep control and sounds fantastic. It also has an original Leo Quan Badass II bridge, again fitted when I first bought the bass, which gives solid sustain. The 75 RI features classic 70s block inlays, skunk stripe on back of neck and vintage style heavyweight tuners. It's been professionally set up and comes with a hardcase. I really don't want to sell this but needs must! It's in immaculate condition, the only tiny scratch can see is on the tip of the headstock, otherwise it looks and plays like new.

7. Anyone have any experience of some of the cheaper, no-name high mass bridges such as these? My Jazz has a BadAss II from the mid 90s on it and whilst it's great, I'm not sure they're worth the money for what is basically a pretty low tech cast item. Thoughts?
8. Palmer Ubertreiber? They're great although not used mine much since i got my Tech21 Flyrig. It has a blend control which i think is essential for grind. Could be persuaded to part with it...!
9. My second ever bass was one of these and I wish I still had it. Only sold it as the headless look got the piss ripped out of me...! Sustain for days
10. I don't like them but thirty seconds of 690 grade glass paper fixes the problem...
11. Walking distance to the northern quarter. Knock yerself out! This and That cafe for cheap but amazing indian, hipster bars, Almost Famous burgers etc...
12. These are great: Tiger Bass Guitar Gig Bag - Premier Padded Carry Case https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005M2V2X0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_VaInybRFPATMX
13. I've got a kiogon loom arriving tomorrow. It's going on my CV 70s P. Love the pickups, the socket was a bit iffy so for £25 to swap out the entire loom and pots/jack it was cheaper than me doing it myself!
14. Anyone know if standard knobs on a 70s CV Precision are 1/4 inch or 6mm?
15. whatever you go for 2 2x10s vertically on top of each other is GREAT for hearing yourself I find..!
16.
Yep great pedal
I just want a bit of grit/grind, I don't want to go full fuzz and I don't want to lose bottom end at all, and this pedal's the only one I've found that gets close to the sound in my head, I'm v happy with it
17.
I got a Squier CV 70s P last year. Not really picked my Fender Jazz 75RI with a John East pre up since. There's just something right about it. I suspect the Sterling Sub I got last week will be the same, it just makes you grin when you pick it up...
....and I tried the Sub out at rehearsal volume tonight and I'm sold on it. It's great. My band prefers it to expensive things and I'm gigging it Friday.
18. Seven Miles Out in Stockport on Friday night. It's free, it's kids friendly and it's our night. 3 bands and decent beer...
19. I got a Palmer Ubertreiber from the classifieds recently. Fab drive pedal as it has a wet/dry blend....
20. I got a Squier CV 70s P last year. Not really picked my Fender Jazz 75RI with a John East pre up since. There's just something right about it. I suspect the Sterling Sub I got last week will be the same, it just makes you grin when you pick it up...
21. Christ on a bike, that's lovely. I'm potless after buying a Sterling Sub and this makes me ask myself what the hell I was thinking! Lovely, glws
22. Retrovibe sell very well regarded replacement for fifty quid on eBay...
23. I've had the polytune for a year or so. Lives on the headstock of my bass and works like a charm in all scenarios. I occasionally find E detected as B but since I moved position a little it always gets it right. Great device.
24. I had a TC BG250 208 and it didn't rattle at all... Great little combo
