1. Tony I'll give it a go, but there doesn't seem to be much out there. I'm still in the same Bands, but interest in playing seems to be waning what with the difficulties in getting Gigs these days and Band members retiring; it’s obviously an age thing! We are all well, and you? Cheers Charla
2. Impossible, how can a bass player not be a member of Basschat?
3. As you will gather, I'm looking for a Band as I'm at a `loose end' at the moment. My musical taste is eclectic, and my recent playing history covers the Blues, Soul and Funk area, but I'll have a go at anything. Not that age is important, but I'm 54, therefore no spring chicken. I have my own transport and a nice selection of basses and amps etc. I live 10 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne, but travelling isn't a problem, as long as it's not too far! Thanks for looking. Cheers Charla
4. Contacted John on Sunday, some emails regarding my requirements, and here we are on Tuesday with a Precision Loom fitted and sounding sweet. I'm sure I'll be back next time I need some electrics sorted? Thanks again John Cheers Charla
5. Hello fellow BC'ers Just bought Lawrie's EHX Enigma Q Balls. Pedal in excellent condition and well packed and promptly dispatched, he sent the power supply separately, which must have cost him extra. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with Lawrie again. Cheers Charla
6. I had a problem with the Tone Pot on my Precision, which John sorted quickly and telephoned me to discuss what sort of sound I was after and offer advice. A Sound Guy (pun intended). Thanks again John. Cheers Charla
7. Bought a selection of drum goodies from Harry; quick and easy with everything arriving safely, well packed and as described. Cheers Harry and good luck with the move. Charla

9. Just bought an EHX Bass Blogger from Rob, all very straightforward, although I have to say the pedal is a little dirty............... I'll get my coat!! Cheers Charla

11. Well just restrung the Precision with Status Hotwire Flatwounds, and it's sounding good and the tension is just about right, so I'm a happy man as my Precision sounds like a Precision! Might even do one of the 5 strings with flats? Cheers again Charla
12. Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for their input, once again BC comes up trumps. Secondly, I've gone for the Status Hotwires, purely on grounds of economics. If I get on with the flats I might go `up market' next time. Cheers Charla
13. We all play various styles and have different techniques and preferences; one man’s meat is another man’s poison. Can’t get the `feel’ I want if the string tension is too great, and I do bend, but just for vibrato; there’s a whole new argument!
14. I normally use Elixir 45 -105, I could just stick with them; the Precision is new to me and not had Elixir's on yet!
15. Hello Fellow Bassist I'm thinking of restringing my Precision with Flat wounds (not before time I hear you say, just to pre-empt WoT). However, the last time I put FW's on my Jazz the string tension was fairly tight and not to my liking, they were Rotosounds. Any recommendations on which are best and would allow we some `play' in the tension? Cheers Charla
16. Just bought Gary's Precision: Prompt delivery and well packed, The deal was easy, after my little `disagreement with Mrs C, can you really believe she thought I had too many basses? And the bass is excellent; oh how I've missed that Precision sound. A man of his word. Cheers Charla
17. I've got two Sandbergs: PM5 & JJ5, which I love, just wish I could remember how to upload photo's ....................... must be my age! Cheers Charla
18. Recently bought these from Danbowskill however, they're not suitable for ABM 2x10. Only issue is the rear gasket has come off on of the speakers as it stuck to the cab when removing. I have some rubber tape which I use as a gasket and will enclose a length when posting. £60 posted or make me an offer Hope Dan doesn't mind me using his photo's? Cheers Charla
19. Stevie ThanKs for the advice, I've had a look and they're not too expensive to buy. Just need to work out if the spacer will cause the speaker to touch the grill. I'll look at it tomorrow. Cheers Charla
20. Just got a couple of Eminence Legends for my ABM 2x10 cab and the aperture is just too big which means I can't get a seal between the speaker and cab. Can anyone suggest the best way of making / buying a gasket or resolving the problem? Cheers Charla
21. Kenny, thanks for that, edit - Deltalight 8 ohms ............................. of course it came from a 4ohm cab ..............doh! Cheers Charla
22. I have two speakers `going spare': Eminence Deltalight II 10" 250w 8ohm - £55 + shipping Ashdown blueline (from my ABM 2x10 cab) 10" 150watt 16ohm - £20 + shipping Or make me a trade offer. I also have another Deltalight which seems faulted, it's fine until you push it hard!!!! Cheers Charla
