For me the coolest basses ever would have to be more than just a bass, and would have to have some history. So Macca's Hofner, the P that Simonon is tring to destroy on the London Calling cover, Jaco's jazz, Bernard Edwards MM, the bass Lynott did his last gig with... etc...

The only project I can think of, is firewood.

So just to clarify: Am I wrong in assumong he only takes one bass to a gig? And rather than pay the extra to take his one special bass in the cabin, he's happy to put it in the hold? Even though he is a professional bassist earning his living playing said bass?

i used to own the PJB dalek. M500 head, 8T and 16B cabs. In a word - yes. Sound quality is amazing and the tonal options from the head are almost infinite. I only let the rig go because it wouldn't fit in my new car

I'm with Homer on this one. The lack of effort made with the packaging and lead is inexcusable, it just shows the shop don't give a rats.

I'm trying to get a decent synth bass sound from my ME50-B. The kind of instant attack sound Quincy Jones would use, I don't want squelsh or boing. I've tried the synth bass settings and have fiddled with modulation effects and compression but I'm still not getting there. Any advice? ta.

used BEAD with my passive MM Sub. No problems at all. Had to file the nut to fit the low B and that was it. Sounded great too.

Rather than hide it, why not make a feature out of it? Put some kind of cover on top and make a bass amp coffee table kind of thing

started off on classical guitar, and was quite good on electric in an 80's widdler sort of way. Trouble was by the time I could do the 80's widdling it was the 90's and no-one was interested in that sort of thing. It's not much fun been in a band where the guitarist(s) is not good enough to play the guitar parts you write.

i was put on to Bassworld by Mike at Iceni. Seems a long time ago now. I remember the first Bash I attended was the second one. Sadly some great people have fallen by the wayside since then...
