I know you cant compare the two james to each other, but was jameson a household name in the sixties or was it just known some guy played most of the bass on the motown stuff ? I know biffy are'nt huge but have supported the likes of the stones, so clearly there is a market for this bass. I know there are more deserving players who should have had sig models, burnell for one if recent comments about on here about "this guy made me want to pick up the bass" are anything to go by. Dee Dee also springs to mind, dee dee over dirnt anyday.

The original bill of sale said this bass was a 60's jazz bass. I sold it to the guy that rayman bought it from, i fitted emg's to it in the early 90's. The person who bought it from me didnt want them, so i supplied him with the plate and controls from a squier VM bass. The original scratchplate didnt have any holes for a thumb rest.

Its a great dvd, love the bit where the edge kicks his rickenbacker across the stage. DVD of this tour being filmed this weekend in america, also being streamed live onto utube on sunday night.

Marker pen on rear of neck is from playing in far to many dark dingy places in the early 90's, but as rayman says these are very faint. I realy shouldnt have got rid of this

Was chatting to a bass player friend on friday night at a gig about the jag. He had one but couldnt get on with it, although he says on hindsight he didnt give it a real go. He thought his was short scale.

Just a feeler at the minute, thinking of shifting the maple neck of the prose bass i bought. No idea on the make of neck but its straight and the frets are good, at present it has a white headstock with a fender logo. But could easily by rubbed back to the laquer. Comes with machine heads, looking for £60 plus postage

Saw derek forbes playing in kirk brandons 10.51 in the mid 90's, he was playing a vigier back then. Had some good basslines, but they were all stan stammers lines.

Sounds like a lot of hassle, for playing with a bunch of cocks with big ideas and little get up and go themselves. Like the late great joe strummer said" a band has to be firing on all fours"
