jazz project

All sprayed, need to flatten back and apply nitrocellulose laquer when it turns up. And add J pick up at some stage, also thinking of spraying the headstock also.

Yes is/was a prosebass, didnt like the sound from it. Have emg's on a couple of other bass's and like the sound. Have tried it with just MM pick up, and it sounds cool. But will be better with a jazz on it as well.

jazz project

Have put some ash pieces into the old pick up cavity's and re routed body for new pick ups. Putting a jazz bridge pick up in the neck position, although emg say the neck pick up is available from any emg stockist no one lists it. Next on the list is to finish rubbing it down, then respay it. I was originally going to get a local luthier to plug the old holes etc, but he couldnt touch it for more than a month. The wood cost a pound from a local hard wood stockist
4. Looked up the body woods on the squier site, the VM's are soft maple and the CV's are basswood. Although my old jap jazz was basswood as well and was certainly heavier than the CV i tried. I still think i'll end up getting a CV as well, but i might try a few before buying.
5. Tried out a classic vibe jazz around at our drummers today and was suprised how much lighter in weight it is compaired to the vintage modified i have. Thought the sustain wasnt as good, and the headstock was at least 2mm thinner than the one on my VM. Anyone else compaired the two ?
6. I think they sound stingrayish, got one in my esp surveyor and in the middle of fitting one in a jazz bass also.
7. Ive got a surveyor ive been trying to sell, the neck is slimmer than a jazz. Sound wise its like a musicman and then some turn everything back and its like a jazz or precision. Only sound link ive got of one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3moRHcjXoNk wait untill half way through the song for just bass.

9. Best jazz i had was a 1990 jap 60's re issue, next best would be my vm squier jazz. Worse one would be a american 62 re issue, very dull and lifeless even with a badass bridge fitted. Worse fender ever would be a mexican precision i had, possibly made of bulsa wood.
10. Took these out of my prose jazz as the sound wasnt for me, lots of variety of tone etc. Not really sure what its worth if anything. The neck pick up is a double jazz artec pick the bridge (3) is an american humbucker a squire pick up.
11. Bought this recently because i liked that it was slightly different than an ordinary looking jazz, But the downside was i didnt like the sound of it. So ive now gutted the body and at present im waiting on an emg mm pick up to try, depending on the sound it'll just have the mm pick up or i might add a humbucker to it as well.
12. Quick someone buy my esp so i can have this
13. Worth putting it in somewhere and getting it fixed, bound to be something simples.

prose bass

Last bump before i rip it down
15. Ideally you want stuff called panel wipe, thats used as a de greaser on car paint, but wd40 on a cloth also removes sticker adhesive.
