  1. I’ve found the transition from lined fretless to unlined pretty straightforwards so far. Might be a different story playing live!
  2. Yep, sure is. I believe there are some that are between frets!
  3. The top on my l’arrivee bugged when I first bought it (second hand). It’s such a fantastic guitar that I’ve grown to like it - it’s unique and mine!
  4. We’ll no replies but I ordered one anyway. Still need to fit the string retainer and tweak the nut slots (the nuts not included) but it’s currently playable and I cant put it down for long enough to finish it. Custom decal needed too. Seems to be a good quality neck. The side dots are at the fret positions - not between and they’re only at the 3,5,7,9 etc positions. i had to shim the front of the pocket to get the action right but that’s fine.
  5. As I’m no longer in a band or doing any home recording I’m thinning out the gear. I bought this SR from Bass Direct in September 2019 for £799. It’s a stunning looking bass, with a fantastic neck and a huge sound. The preamp when flat sounds indentical to the bypassed/passive mode. Just after I bought it the blend pot packed up. I fitted a temporary replacement whilst a genuine Ibanez one was on order and it’s still in there. The taper isn’t perfect so blending near the centre isn’t as good as the original. The genuine Ibanez one (in a kit with volume) is included and the price adjusted accordingly. collection only from mid cornwall (or meet part way depending on distance etc).
  6. Ive changed to an unlined neck so up for sale is my fender standard fretless Jazz neck. I bought this new from DV247 in January 2020 for £166. They seem to have shot up in price like a lot of things recently - https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Fender-Standard-Series-Jazz-Bass-Neck-Fretless-Pau-Ferro/art-BAS0009622-000 It has some marking from the fact I've only used it with round wounds but nothing serious (can’t seem to get a decent picture of the marks) and also some small indents in the end of the fingerboard from clumsy slapping. the truss rod has been slackened off for storage shipping etc but is perfectly functional. £100 including postage a great way to try fretless if you have a MIM fender!
  7. Looks great! What’s the neck?
  8. Just fitted my new Kiogon loom. Jazz loom VBT with selector switch to choose between the jazz bridge pickup or the MM pickup I have fitted between the j pickups. Works a treat. Awesome service - was made and in the post the same day we finalised the details! Great communication, quality gear, well designed and beautifully assembled and packed!
  9. I have the MM4.2 in a passive jazz bass. Sounds great passive!
  10. Hi, i have a squier jazz with fretless neck and a Nordstrand musicman pickup between the jazz pickups. The bridge jazz pickup is disconnected and the mm pickup connected to its volume pot. Would you be able to do a VBT loom with a selector switch for the bridge pickup? cheers pete
  11. https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Goeldo-NJFLF-Fretless-Neck-for-4-String-Jazz-Bass-Rosewood-/art-GIT0009714-000 I’m thinking of fitting one of these to my bitsa fretless Jazz as I’d like to go unlined. Has anyone tried one and if so how do you find it? I’m guessing I’ll need to add a route at the neck pocket for truss rod adjustment?
  12. Yeah, provenance of materials is another one. Hopefully Thomann have it under control 🤞
  13. That’s unbelievably cheap. Looks fantastic for the price. Can’t help wonder how on earth it can be made for that. I wonder how much is left after Thomann take their cut?
  14. I bought a set of hipshot HB7s for my fretless neck. I’m actually quite disappointed with them. The action isn’t very smooth and one of them rattles. I wouldn’t buy them again.
  15. Great chap to do business with! Thanks Dave, been a pleasure!
  16. EBS Multi Drive Studio Edition. Excellent condition. Bought new from Bass Direct in October 2018. Never gigged. Used at a few rehearsals only. Includes original packaging and manual. £55 plus postage
  17. John East MMSR 4 knob, 3 band stingray pre amp. Just over a year old. Recently removed from my Ray 34 as I’ve now fitted the Delano hybrid system. As new and complete including all packaging and instructions etc. Easy installation with no soldering. N.B.this is the without plate version £85 plus postage https://www.east-uk.com/index.php/bass/mmsr-4-knob-3-band.html
  18. As I’m enjoying my fretless so much I’m learning wherever I lay my hat. Keeping it quiet though.
  19. Looks lovely. I really like the fretboard dots.
  20. Can we have a photo of the whole bass please 😁
