  1. Thanks, that's what I needed to see. As I suspected, not enough (if any) forearm chamfering for me. Shame, otherwise looks like a great bass complete with thru-body stringing.
  2. That looks really nice - or should I say "real neat"? 😉 Any chance of a pic showing the edge of the body where the forearm rests?
  3. Sad to see this one still up FS. Since I got my WT550, I've gone through loads of stuff in the obsessive/compulsive quest for 'the amp that rules them all' and ended up with a Mesa TT-800 and HandBox R-400 as my gig amps. Knowing what I know now though, I can honestly say that if either of those got nicked tomorrow, rather than replacing it with the same - or anything else - I would happily gig the Eden. Weird thing, that GAS 😐
  4. Wow, that's a bit longer than for my orders a few years ago! Adrian's obviously doing something right 🙂
  5. Except Newtone don't do flats - which I would go for. La Bellas are my s-s preference, but others may be able to recommend a lower-cost alternative.
  6. Another bump for this rare beastie. Buy this and you'll feel like all your Christmases have come at once!
  7. For the short-scale players on here, my Lionel is a lovely player. I've owned and played loads of different shorties but none better than the Sandy in terms of comfort/playability and build quality. Mine just has the single Black Label P p-up but I think they now do twin-pickup short-scales, which would be my preference.
  8. These look interesting. From the pictures, my only hesitation would be the apparent lack of chamfering in the area where the forearm rests. Personally I don't like the feel of sharp edges.
  9. Thanks to all who responded to my request for help. Pinged an e-mail across to Leszek over the weekend and got one back first thing this morning saying he's pretty sure what the problem is and offering me two alternatives: either he'll liaise with my amp tech if I have one (which I do), or I return the amp to HandBox at my cost and he fixes it FOC. I've put Leszek in touch with my trusty amp guy and am confident that all will be sorted locally before too long. When you consider I didn't buy the amp new, must say I'm delighted with Leszek's response.
  10. This! Re bags and cases, there's a good choice out there if you look around. In addition to the OE cases I got with Spector, Atelier and Maruszczyk s-s basses, I've also got a Fender s-s bass gig bag and a hard case Gator make for the Fender Jaguar guitar. As for the wonderful JMJ Mustang, I'd have one by now if it had the number of frets and wide-ranging sounds I need.
  11. Mine ranged from 10 to 13wks pre-covid but all the shortages and disruption caused by the pandemic won't help.
  12. Thanks Pete. No worries, I'm used to dealing with Adrian Maruszczyk! 😐
  13. OK, so just had another look at the R-400 before tonight's gig. When I switched on this time, one of the red warning lights flashed for a split second but again no power-up - couldn't tell whether it was the CLIP or PROT light as they are next to each other and it happened so fast but this suggests it's not a blown fuse. Had another try and got nothing at all. Anybody know if HandBox have UK tech support? I've got other amps but this was fast becoming my favourite.
  14. I had the cheaper SBMM version for a while. Very nice indeed if you're into the 'Ray vibe and reckoned to be virtually as good as the more expensive MM version by those on Talkbass who either own or have played both.
  15. Same lead worked fine with backup amp. Yes, I think I did hear a click.
  16. Switched my R-400 on for sound check before Saturday night's gig and it didn't power up. Blue light came on for a split second and went out - then nothing. Switched off and on again but no blue light at all this time, so had to use my back-up amp. Any ideas? Thought I'd ask on here first before trying it again. Btw, we did have the feeling that the pub's mains supply wasn't delivering the full 240v as our lead guitarist wasn't getting the expected volume from his amp at the normal settings.
  17. What a fabulous collection is that! Love the basses, the sofa and the photography.
  18. I know from experience that all Bernard's kit is top notch and you can deal with confidence.
  19. Thanks for that - 5.5lbs would be nice but sounds impossibly light. I know those luggage scales are usually not so accurate at the bottom end of the scale. Fordbass PM'd me that his is 8lbs according to bathroom scales so I'm guessing the actual weight is somewhere in between.
