    I believe KT120 valves need more current so if your amp was not designed to take them it's better to avoid the change. Best ask the maker of your amp. My Stoneham amp uses them and it has a clean tone.

    After many years of buying the latest and greatest Class D amps, I finally took the step of acquiring a valve amp to use at home and if I ever gig again. After a couple of weeks looking around at the many options available I settled on a Stoneham YI200. There was a little chatter on Basschat a few years back about the amp and it was named by fellow Basschatters. I will do a review of the amp in a week or so after I've gained a few miles on it.

    It is encased in wood with no makers mark unfortunately. It sounds great. I agree it could be a standard Jazz pickup in a fancy case.

    Fender BXR 300 Combo Bass Amp. Last serviced February 2020. No scratchy pots or strange noises from amp. 15 inch original drive unit. Has locking wheels. New fan at last service. 300 watts. Built to last. Made 1989. Pickup from Torquay, Devon.

    I've just bought this wonderful Silver Burst Jack Casady Bass with a custom pickup installed. The seller did not know who or where the pickup was made. Does any Basschatter know where it came from? It's a single coil as far as I know with wooden sides and ebony top? Did this bass belong to you? Thanks in advance.
