Due to switching mainly to keys, ive finally decided to sell this bass. I brought it new in June 2019 from Kennys’ music. Its been gigged a very few times, very well looked after. Mostly home playing though. Ive added Schaller straplocks (the old style) in vintage chrome to match the rest of the hardware. I still have the originals. No issues with neck/TR/Tuners etc. Its been well looked after. Weight is roughly 9.7lbs. Scales keep showing different readings. Been as low as 9.4lbs though so taking the average here. Its not a lightweight bass, but its a comfortable bass to wear for long periods. Just two small issues: The first is a small dig in the headstock (pictured). The other is a small dent in the body on the bottom of the bass (as you hold it). The paintwork hasn’t cracked, its just a small dent. It was in a gig bag at the time which softened it. Hard to photograph but ill sort something out. Comes with hard case and tools. The case has never been used, only opened to get the bass out once. Not looking to post as i prefer to deal face to face so item can be inspected, so would mean collection from Holborn EC1 in london or somewhere in central london area. Not looking for trades but could be open to a very, very close offer. Any questions ask away.

Haha, he is like the good vibe fairy 😂

Jeez, my typing is bloody awful when ive been out walking in the rain and the screen is still wet lol. He made me smile, and that’s what music is all about lol.

Sorry, yes, YC. I love this tits read as well. Looks like a Nord lol. If i had that i might trigger it with a split keyboard on the MODX. I don’t think is be up to playing all the John Lord stuff on that little keyboard 😳. if I’m going to play keys, which is the plan in the near future it wont be as well as bass, so ill have room to take the MODX and Korg N5. Quite looking forward to that day. Ive actual just sat down and tinkered with the DX and got a slightly better piano sound so I think ill keep it for a while. It does seem to be an amazing bit of kit, considering its current price.

Its on Spotify. Pretty sure you can listen to it for free.

The point is i just need a basic clean sound, like a good piano for working lines and chords out at home, and I’d like a good organ sound as i want to learn how to play all that cool mad Hammond stuff. Ive found ‘ok’ versions of both in the DX, but i find having a ‘great’ version of the sound really helps. I dont plan to gig my DX, mu MODX can do it all and more, but i would gig a CS or YP. The YP most definitely. I just won udon the use it at home for working most songs out. Yep, a 4 in one would be fantastic.

Well a few weeks on and ive Harold used my DX. Since getting the MODX all my time has been spent with that. I do love the DX for sitting on the bed and working things out though. Only issue is I’m never going to use any of the ‘DX’ sounds. All ive used is a piano and Organ. I was thinking of trying to swap it for a CS now, as I’m using those sort of tones quite a bit on the MODX. Thought about swapping for a CP but I’m not really in to that sort of piano (i know there is a hidden acoustic one), and i love the tones of the YC, but I prefer something that can do both.

Ive had a few cables off Dave in the past. Never had any issues at all, but i dont see them as anything that special. Ive rarely had issues with any cables, not even the real cheap ones off Amazon. Ive got cables from years ago that still work perfectly. Not saying they were as well put together, but if it works properly then job done. I mean no disrespect to him but he was using off the shelf parts i beleive, all be it high quality ones and with very neat soldering. Very good cables, but....well they are only cables at the end of the day. EDIT: Sorry, maybe the above was a bit harsh. I just think the cables were as good as any good cable ive had.

Love it!!!

Interesting choice of cover. I love that song.

The shop probably didn’t realise either. Always worth looking very closely at used goods.
-
Not been ‘had’ unless it was sold as stock or someone told you it hasn’t been modified.
-
Yep, on two basses. Only issue i can see is if you have a different type of jack socket. Mine were fine (both P style basses) but just double check this before ordering.
-
Ive been using 7dayshop for years, although not too often as i tend to get most things from Amazon. Very good rep though.

Well there you you go then, your last point shows it can be handy to know, but my post was more a general one. Doing simple work on the electrics in a bass for example, changing pups etc. Over time the saving can add up.
-
Its always handy to have soldering skills. Its not hard and can save a fortune.

No, nothing like this. We, or at least I, am talking about music production, what the heck has German politics got to do with it? Thats a ridiculous argument. Might as well say using loads of reverb and chorus is the same as Hilter invading Europe. Get a grip.
-
True, but as i said, it still did the job. Im not sticking up for the type of production, i haven't commented on it as such, just that it was very popular for a good few years. Now i realise those on here look down on what the general public like, as 'we' know better (a room full of people dancing cant be a good thing can it lol), but when you produce something that the masses like, i dont think its hard to say you got it right, even if others dont like it. That is the only point i have to make.
-
Did the job though 😉
-
The production did its job, so it cant be crap 🤔 😂

Seeing as ive just brought two keyboards stacked full of 80’s sounds I NEED a band that plays them lol. I love 80’s music, but not really the pop/solo artist stuff with the backing tracks. TOTP stuff. There was so much more to the 80’s than the New Romantic movement and SAW stuff. And of course we had the NWOBHM.

And where would you get the metrics from? How would you know 2mm/2.5mm etc is ideal without feeling it?
-
Yes, the government have said no live music yet in pubs for this reason.
-
Thats how i will feel after the first one.....then back to hating it lol.
