  1. I noticed last night as i was playing my BB425 that ive strung it through body, which is what i normally do. It struck me that i wasn't taking advantage of the extended B part of the bridge. Just wondered if anyone had compared the two methods of stringing the B string and if there is an advantage to stringing through bridge.
  2. Yep, we arent talking about those heads. This thread is not about the MB Fusion heads.
  3. No. Max you can get is 450watts in to 2ohms, 300watt in to 4ohms.
  4. RED!!! they were RED, not pink....😂 Im not keen on the Gen 1 knobs but i do like the Gen 's.
  5. Good point. I could also ask them to change the neck for a maple and re spray the body with a sunburst finish 🤔
  6. That was before i came round to your Bass emporium lol. To put that in to context, i felt the neck and pliability was spot on for me. The bass is other respects isn't perfect, but for me the ability to play it and feel comfortable and not limited on is was the point i was making. If the P7 had been the same price as the BB435 i just brought id have gone for the Sire without a second thought.
  7. But the black or teal version is only £479. Agree though, it’s probably a random figure as they will match other stores, and don’t have one anyway.
  8. I don think I’d every buy something like this, i was just pointing out that different heights can be useful, but i agree, that string part is a bit off putting. I use Peak Design gear for my camera stuff, and they use thin industrial nylon connectors, Was a bit worried about them breaking at first but its amazing how much weight those things can hold.
  9. I’d love one of these. I had the Legacy 800 for a while and really liked it, but found it was more or less duplicating my MB800 so returned it (3 actually). It a shame the 500Watt models would only give me 300watts in to my one 4ohm cab. If it was a full 500watt I’d re think about getting one of these or the Legacy again.
  10. Same here. not in anyway tempted to get the thing, but i can see a use for it.
  11. I have a 435 arriving this week. got it as an ex demo from Dawsons. Cant wait. While i was looking for one i found this on the London Yamaha website. Must be a mistake right? https://www.yamahamusiclondon.com/BB-435-Electric-5-String-Bass-Guitar/pidGBB435TBS
  12. I did get used to it, but after an hour sitting down I’d end up with a red mark on my forearm. Never played a Rick but i can imagine it can feel that same, although I’d happily put up with it for a Ric 🙂

    Which Helix?

No problem. I love how L6 thought of almost everything in these boxes. Agree though, the LT sounds a bit overkill for this use.

    Which Helix?

You will know more about the LT than me, but i know on the HFX you can change this, and according to the LT manual you can do it as well. Unless im missing something.
  15. Yep, no daisy chaining. As you say, id be back to square one if i did that and would have got the same loud humming i had with the wall warts.
  16. Have you thought of getting one of those Bluetooth speakers? There are plenty around with line in so latency isnt an issue. Me and my son used to jam at home using a couple of these as amps, sometimes direct in, more often through a Zoom B1 pedal. You can get a very nice low end out of these little things.
  17. Same here. Ill take anything offered, but if a band member is not available ill turn it down.
  18. Not as small as some mentioned but I’m really impressed with my Fender Rumble LT25 combo. Has a bit of amp modelling and a few ‘essential’ effects. Has proper low end although its only a 1x8 so not really floor rumbling.
  19. Yeah, standing isnt too much of an issue, although i did have to buy an extra wide strap. I play with a pick and rest my hand on the bridge, so couldn’t wear it the way JC does. Agree though, worth the slight discomfort for the tone it produces. I also got a black bridge for mine. The original one popped off less than 10 mins after i got it. A known issue by all accounts and i was ready for it. Had a tube of superglue handy lol.
  20. A bit off topic but it relates to fret buzz/clank in a way. At the studio we rehearse at there is a a 4x12 which sits on another cab. Both hard wired together. One of the 12. Inch drivers is majorly buggered. It buzzes a lot. Horrible sound from that cab. The thing is, when the band are playing its not audible at all. Now i don’t obsess too much about a little buzz when fretting. It’s not audible at all with the band, but having the action to my liking does make a difference Dave. I had a JCB for a while last year. Really nice bass and i loved its unique tone, but it felt very uncomfortable to play sitting down, which is how I practice at home. It wasn't the neck dive, but the edge of the body digging in to my forearm.
  21. Haha, i’d never accuse DG of offering value for money, but it does seem like a complete package. I’d love to get the MKII VMT version of these amps. I liked the VMTD i had, and use the B7K sim Ultra a lot in my Helix, but at the price they are asking i doubt I could afford it. I know the first gen is a lot cheaper but i like the EQ on the MKII. The rear panel seems full of stuff I’d never ever need but its nice to havre i guess.
  22. Haha, I’m trying to down size what i take out so cant see me buying anything Amp/Effect related. I love my Fender Rumble, and also my GK heads, so I’m sorted for that. I still have a BDDIv2 and PBDDI, neither get used these days. I wish the GK Legacy 500 was actually 500 in to 4 ohms like most 500watt heads. I’d get that in a heartbeat.
  23. Ive always had a soft spot for Tech 21 stuff. Ive had a few DG pedals and while I liked most of them i always went back to my BDDI. Never tired any of these heads though.
