In the short time I had my P7 I’d say a definite yes. In passive mode closer to my Fender P bass than my two Yamaha basses.

€ Once you get your DAW up and running you could use that to get a feel of where the different feels are on the knob.....I think. I agree though, the default centre mid is where I seem to leave mine set. Never felt the need to use the low boost.

Well I’d still be weary of anything that isn’t Officially written for the bass. Piano parts or not always the full bass line.

Oh yeah, the noise was the most memorable part of the GM clips. I think you are right about Mo Forster. Back then I wasn’t interested in bass, so one bass played sounded the same as another lol

I’d love a MB800 Fusion. I had one for an hour but never got to plug it in. The case was damaged so I sent it back.

I keep buying 800watt heads, ‘just in case I need more’. In almost 20 years of playing with just my rig supplying the sound to the room Ive never gone over half way on a master, even on a 500watt head. I realise not all master positions are the same, I’m just saying I’ve never had to go past noon on any amp. I could easily doe all my gigs with my markbass F1 (500watt) or Fender 800HD. If people were finding the 750 wasn’t loud enough I’d say a ‘proper’ 750watt head wouldn’t make much difference. I find the amp voicing can make a head sound louder than some other similar rated heads.

‘Place will be rammed’ heard it quite a few times, obviously Always a bit of an over statement. Variation is ‘it was rammed last night, could explain in why it’s empty tonight’ A very small pub we used to play regularly in Debden was always ‘3 deep at the bar’ the night before we played.....no matter what night we played. Still a good gig though, but it’s hard to imagine it being that full at any time.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read loads about the power discrepancy with the 750, especially over on TB. I’m not really clued up on all the different power rattings and what they mean, but I’m pretty sure I’ve not read (many) posts about the head not being loud enough for the job.

You could by a screen protector for a large smart phone and cut it down.

My post was not about making a profit, thats not what this thread is about IMO, it was about pointing out it can be brought for much less new (and with the being it’s new brings). This has nothing to do with vintages gear, a bass that has been sold 3 times and each time the cost creeps up etc, it’s about pointing out the item is currently available for a lot less brand new. . I don’t intend to break any rules here, I’d stay out of any of this sort of thing, but I also don’t have to agree with the rules. I prefer to warn people if they are getting ripped off or scammed.

Although I don’t do either, I would prefer to post publicly if I knew the item was way overpriced (or had known issues) I would feel like I’m sticking my nose in if I questioned a seller privately, especially if I had no intention of buying the time anyway. Why bother, seller would probably know what they are doing, and still go ahead with it. Posting in the thread would be the same, but would at least alert anyone thinking of buying it to the fact that it can be brought a lot cheaper. Then it’s down to them.

Yeah, I’m talking about rehearsals (so not going through a PA), and using my rig as the only source of bass, so again, not through a PA.

It’s not just tone/EQ though, it’s authority, the way the cab interacts with the amp/bass etc. Going from the F112 to the CH212 made a huge difference in how the bass was perceived in the mix. And of course a 1x12 will not do quite what a 212 will as far as heft and fullness (given both are high end boxes) so maybe for me it was just a 1x12 didn’t work for me rather than a FRFR. i got some fantastic tones out of the 1x12 with the Stomp, but I could never get a decent live tone. Plus the heads I was using made a tonal difference, so to me even if the cab was neutral the signal arriving at it wasn’t.

Im keeping out of that thread, as I too prefer a coloured cab/rig. It’s just not rock and roll lol.

But this part of the thread was about using a Stomp, so my suggestion wasn’t aimed at Al, just making a comment on his reply to the original issue and pointing out there is global HPF available so no need to program it in to each patch. It’s not Al that was asking about EQ.
