1. It's not half bad that actually and Mark's voice has matured, he sounds really good, not as nasal as he used to be sometimes. Love the thumbed bassline, is this a first for christmas songs I wonder? How about Marcus Miller doing a thumbed version of The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"...?
2. Wow, that is stunning? Can I interest you in a fretless '62 re-issue Jazz Bass plus cash?
3. l Love Franz Ferdinand anyway, and this is a cool bassline. Can't say that the bass is the thing I look out for when I listen to them though..
4. Actually looks like a really nice instrument, but probably overpriced by about £500 IMO! I tried one of these about 16 years ago and loved it but wasn't in a position to buy. If only someone had one to sell at a good price... Sounds like the guy selling it doesn't know much about basses.
5. My first Spector was an NS 2000/5 which was awesome. Great feel, sound and build quality, the only problem was that I found the string spacing a bit tight at the bridge end, so I swapped it for something else on here. I've now got a Legend Classic 4, which I love! It's great for the money, highly recommended. I'd love a Euro in the future...
6. I'm not sure about warm ups when you can't actually play, but I find a good pair of gloves always helps and just keep your fingers moving to get the circulation going. Help to prevent damage in the same way that you'd warm up before going running or cycling. Probably not the advice you were looking for, but I sometimes get circulation issues with my fingers and I find that this helps. It doesn't help that some of the rehearsel places I've played in have been so cold that Ranulph Fiennes is planning expeditions to them...! Kets
7. Superb bassline and good transcription. Thanks for the link! Peace Beyond Passion is still my favourite Me'Shell album though...
8. Looks awesome for £100. Pity I'm nowhere near Herfordshire....
9. Possibly the only phrase missing from this ad is: "These are the best basses you can buy anywhere in the world and other places as well"...
10. Awesome post, Pino IS the man! John Mayer's an awesome axemeister as well though, very Stevie Ray Vaughan. Pino also did some superb playing on Joan Armatradings "The Shouting Stage" Album. Check out the intro to "The Devil I know", could be the best Pino lick ever IMO.
11. No interest? I can always negotiate on prices, or else this stuff will be going back on the shelf...

15. I've got the all maple 4 string Jack Bass Custom which was actually the first bass I ever owned. Sounds awesome, well made and plays great. Highly recommended. I'll never part with mine.
16. I'd never heard of this, but it looks pretty good.
17.
Forgive the shameful ignorance, but what does the 'c' in 'CIJ' stand for? Conceived? Constructed? Condoned? Created? Cyril? fatback
The C stands for crafted. Sounds sooo much nicer than made in Japan! I have a CIJ Jazz as well, very nice...
18. I don't generally learn basslines note for note, but last decided to learn a couple of classics: Green Flower Street and Ruby Baby, both by Donald Fagen from "Nightfly". I think it's 'cos I was watching Steely Dan on Youtube!
19. Trying speaking to some of the local businesses (Esp. the backpackers hostels) in the area about the place, they should be willing to help. We usually take a week's holiday on Skye about this time, rent a cottage. Skye's pretty quiet this time of year and a lot of the hotels/visitor attractions etc shut down for holiday's/refurbishment etc, simply because there's no one there! I could be wrong though. Because it's just on Skye, maybe it gets more visitors and Kyleakin is a bit of a Bacpacker hangout. If you do go, make sure you consume plenty of Skye Black Cuillin, on tap-Gives Guiness a run for it's money IMO!
20. Thanks for the thoughts so far guys, given me something to think about.
21.
it might be possible to make the current neck playable by removing the frets and levelling the fingerboard then re-fretting - not a cheap option though
Yep, I Kinda thought that. I guy I took it to a years ago who diagnosed the warped neck and hinted that repair would be neither cheap, easy or even effective. I've just put up with it and played it anyway, but it's got quite a high action which I'd like to remedy. It seems to be warped between the third and fifth frets and as a result you need to have the action really high to stop the buzzing.
22. Looking for some help please folks. I have a '77 Musicman Sabre with maple neck/Rosewood, however it has a warped neck. It's been like that for some time, but I'd like to get the action lower which I can't do. I've seen the graphite replacement's, which are pretty dear (Wish I'd seen the link to the one on ebay sooner) but no one seems to do wooden replacements, probably to do with licensing. 1. Does anyone know of any aftermarket wooden replacment necks? 2. or has anyone adapted a P-bass neck to fit-The dimensions appears similar? Or Allparts does replacement necks with blank headstocks, which could be shaped into a Musicman shape. Any thoughts?
23. Simon I've PM'd you regarding one of these I have for sale, which I'm happy to ship. Sorry jhk, not trying to be cheeky, but it's not a big item to ship!
