1. Thanks Pal, I am still incredibly happy with it. Here's a not very good pic next to it's partner in crime. (Off-off topic - I got some of them cobalt flats, trying with the band for the first time tomorrow!)
Offtopic: I keep looking at your avatar... that must be one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen
2. Another reason I've gone back to passive, one less thing to check
 3. Great cab at a bargain price. I certainly would buy it if I had the cash. Good luck with the sale
 4. Sold! message me your email please and I'll send them across

 7. There's one on t'ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Flea-Signature-61-Jazz-Bass-/172273701650?hash=item281c501312:g:D2sAAOSww9VXh~4e
 8. Always fancied one of these, Yamaha usually make quality instruments. If you do decide to post I would certainly be interested! Don't think you'll have it long at this price though, good luck!
 9.
When a young Marvin Lee Aday was discussing his future music career over lunch one day with a girl he was hoping to impress, she asked what his stage name was going to be. In a bit of a panic, he glanced at the menu and said the first thing he saw. It was only when Bat Out Of Hell was about to be released that his manager finally convinced him to change his name from Garlic Mushroom.
That's brilliant
 10.
Is it insane that I want to get a sonic blue maple necked Elwood-L with banjo frets and a whammy bar. Yes... A whammy bar.
This guy's awesome!
 11.
I'd play everything apart from the G in the final bar on the A string but I guess I'm lazy
Me three. Perhaps the person thought playing it higher up the neck makes him look like a better player
 12.
I love it! 13. Bit later than I intended but finally got to try this out with the band last night. So impressed. The quality and playability goes without saying really, really easy to play. The sound I am most impressed with, I went for passive, with volume/tone/pickup selector knob. I play in a punk/new wave covers band with loud drums and two guitars. I had a Musicman Stingray for many years but the MM pickup isolated on this sounds better to my ears, really cuts with such a nice growl to it. The P isolated is certainly as good as I could have hoped for, I don't want to rant on but it is brilliant. There is a centre spot for both pickups selected which I'm not usually keen on but was actually a good combination and think I will genuinely be using all three. Tone control does what it does as you would expect Overall everything is very clear and precise, but reacts well to changes in playing, dig in more to get growl, back off slightly to smooth it out. This does need to be played to be fully appreciated, hands down the best bass I have ever played, now the hard part of getting better to do it justice!
 14. I got it like that from Bassman666 on here, drop him a message i'm sure he won't mind, was a great guy to deal with. He certainly did a great job on the mods! If I'm right he got it from our very own Karlfer on here, so it's staying within the basschat family which is cool
 15.
That's a truly gorgeous looking bass. Now, flats. I've got very recent experience of both TI and Di'Addario Chromes. Basically, the TI are lower tension and brighter (well, more mid) than the Chromes, but they're both great strings, with a unique character all of their own, and not as dull/dead as many old-school flats. I've just put a set of TI's on my fretless Wal and am really kicking myself that I never tried it before (and I've had the Wal since 1983).
That's interesting thank you, sounds like the TI would be useful to me.
 16. Who's the drama queen that's voting the fourth option?
 17. Nice poll Keef, looks are important to me
 18.
Sent him another email...
What specs? Or you going for a guitar?
 19.
I use Chrome flats on my Elwood. They are brighter than most flats so you retain a little more edge to still cut through a band mix.
Sounds like what I'm after! The sound is really bright anyway so I think it can stand it and have a sneaking suspicion it will work really well
