Spooky. Talking about the very same situation earlier on today. I had a couple of mates doing gigs last night who had incidents involving p*ssed up "it's alright mate, just having a larf"ers. Would have been gigging Friday and last night if it wasn't for various reasons but I'm doing a couple more next weekend. TBH, I'm not as enthusiastic now. lol

GENZ-BENZ porn lets get them all in one place! :-)

My Streamliner 900 racked up with the rest of the kit. Love it. Having gone from an EBS rig to a TC rig, I'm now back at the stage where I've ooodles of power and the ability to dial in any tone really quickly. The STM900 is so easy to use, sounds great and is almost fool proof. I've heard lots of people say it's pretty difficult to get a bad tone out of it.
http://basschat.co.u...49#entry1891549 Got it at long last! I'll let you know how it sounds when I've had a chance to give it a good workout
I feel as though I've been living under a stone as I've only just found out about these, having seen Alex's facebook posting earlier today. I must admit, I'm very excited about these and really want to see some reviews and hear some of them in action. Whilst I absolutely ADORE my EBS Proline 410, it's an absolute beast to move around. I'm guessing you'll need to gig it a bit to find the true vibe but I'd be interested to see how it pans out if you're planning on a review. T

I'm looking at using my iPad for a rehearsal and live tool at the moment. Got a couple of new projects on the go and a couple of deps and rather than going down the traditional "scribble everything onto A4 and stick it in a folder", I've wanted something more 21st C. Probably asking a really stupid question but with OnSong, I notice it seems to be geared towards church and worship music. Is it just for that genre? How easily can I say grab erm "mustang sally" and drop it into my library? If not, how easy is it to create my own music from varying sources (ie lyric sheets) and annotate them? Someone suggested iRealB a short while ago and this looked to be really good but I've struggled with the creation of tracks. It's not the most immediate I've found and understandably, whilst there's a huge load of stuff to share on the forums, most of it isn't always what you need. At the moment, I'm just back to pdfing my handwritten notes and PDFing them to iBooks. Kinda works in a very old skool way but I guess I should look at OnSong. T

In case there's a national shortage of other decent Friday night entertainment and your personal survival rests on seeing 5 middle aged blokes knocking out a couple of hours of covers, you could always come and see The Retro Band at The Hop Pole in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire tonight. As usual, we'll take the stage about 9.15pm, probably to be bottled off at 9.15pm and 30 seconds. Hope to see ya if you're there, come up and say hello. I'll be the one on stage inconvincingly holding the bass and trying not to look confused. http://www.theretroband.co.uk T

Just sold Steve a fretless neck. Great comms, prompt payment and a man with a good eye for the finer arts of packing appreciation. A gent of the highest order! Deal with confidence

+1 Get a proper set up done first. The £40 quid spent on this (plucked figure out the air) with a good tech will be WAY less than the neck and the grief you'll have fitting it. If you're unsure about whether or not the setup will fix it, make sure you have it done by someone who'll be honest and tell you if it's the neck that's foobar'd.

Bit of filler if you've been careful not to damage the slots as you've taken them out? Easy to smooth off and lightly sand without changing the profile.
I bought his autobiography last year and I have to say it's an amazing story. I would say his life became less interesting when he found fame.
+1 I read it on holiday and I was honestly astounded by how tough his upbringing was. Fantastic read.
I wouldn't necessarily call Korean made instruments 'budget' anymore-not when companies like Lakland are producing great basses at around a grand. There are some ace instruments coming out of Korea right now.
+1 My Lakland Skyline Jo Osborn is Korean. Having owned two American Fender Jazzes in the past and worked in music retail in the past, I've played A LOT of Jazz type basses of all price ranges. This one blows most of them out the water.

Camera connection kit (ipad2)questions
tonyf replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Accessories and Misc
As a big photography freak, I brought a cheap generic one off eBay a few months ago so I could take on holiday. The intention was to use my iPad to view, edit and upload via iPhoto rather than take my MacBook. That was the theory. The reality was that it didn't work fantastically well. I suppose I should have invested in the "proper" Apple connection kit rather than brought a cheaper one as I ended up having loads of issues with the iPad only intermittently seeing my Nikon D300 when connected via a USB cable (as the camera uses a CF card and I couldn't use a card reader) . Personally, I'd invest in the kosher Apple device. To be absolutely sure, maybe go into an Apple store with your kit and make sure it all works before you hand over the dollar. T -
Sorry, I am a prick/snob/music facist, and the song just sounds like the furious dying ticks of the desperate 49 year old single womans bilogical clock as she drops her handbag at the front of the stage and dance/grinds out a silent plee that someone in the pub/function will consider her worthy of sneaking out on at 7am. Sorry.
...and the problem with this is?!

Wow. Top job!
I normally enjoy playing Mustang Sally as the punters love it and in a covers band situation I'd rather play something simple and classic that has people up and dancing than something technical, like Hysteria for instance, that empties the dance floor.
