    @Richard R

If only that was the case, you missed out annoying git, pedant, bore and person who nobody wants to talk to at a party....

...and incompetent bass player and poor guitar player.

I would not worry too much about the latter. Just think of the former criteria as channelling your inner Alan partridge and embrace middle age by using a notebook to capture your thoughts about “ great full English experiences” that you have had

Bloody polymaths! Coming onto our forums and making the rest of us feel inadequate! Send 'em home, or Mensa.

    Incompetent of Solihull.

    😉

Still a dab hand at the one-room dump and rat skin loincloth though. Mr Stig?

You've clearly never experienced the unbridled wrath of Zoe have you...

I'd need the kitchen door open, a very fast car and a one way plane ticket to a plece without an extradition treaty if she caught me melting lead in the kitchen. To be honest, to be really sure, I'd need two major knee ops in advance to make sure I could get to the fast car before she caught me.

Hell hath no fury doesn't even come close to what would happen to me.

    She sounds fcuking fabulous :thumbsup

I can do a bigger event than that. The hall I can use has a 100 capacity, there is a free car park and it is a lovely friendly pub with food etc. There is a stage and I have all my own PA and backline + drums, strat guitar, 2x4-string and 1x5-string bass guitars

    🤮

Thank you. I did see this, but what is a bass bash? I also read NW and immediately thought too far, then Clapham (only knew of London). I think this is still too far, but if I can know what a bass bash is, I can put one one at the perfect venue where I live.

Basically someone brings food, everyone a selection of their bass gear, amps, and you chat and try each others things. Raffle, sometimes also

sometimes builders and Luthiers attend also and sometimes there are demonstrations

generally 20-30 people in a village hall

I've done the guitar shows over the last few years, and the bass presence (if at all) is token.

Am I missing something? I can't believe that there are so few Bass guitar gatherings and events, swap-shops, jams.

There must surely be a host of smaller bass specific events; can anybody help please?

I am in the East Midlands.

    Thankyou

Hello, so am I. I can possibly help you out with the jams. where are you approximately?

The midlands bass bash has been in Nottingham last year but was previously in Doveridges and Leicester

. . . . so he's had a tough time and as a result hasn't finished @EddieG's bass, and hasn't refunded the payments and is not abiding by court judgements, but he's still making basses for sale on Reverb!!!

There doesn't seem to be any way to give Letts the benefit of the doubt. He actually has been able to make basses during this period, so choose your description, fantasist, con man, scammer, thief. . . . or maybe all of them.

I’m just saying that I can see how someone could get into a pickle, I’m not saying it has been handled well or fairly or quickly by him. I honestly regret posting anything now

Awesome, the bag I ordered from China (last year - 29th December) which should fit this pretty nicely has arrived on UK soil and hopefully will be with me soon.

Pedalboard will get its first proper outing on Wednesday (band rehearsal) then proper live outing on Saturday ('Spoons gig).  I probably won't have the back cover on it by then (unless Thursday is as "warm" as the forecast suggests so I can spray some lacquer), but it's perfectly useable as is.

That looks f ckuing amazing … big thumbs up @neepheid

Oh, sorry, NE Scotland colloquialism/dialect.  A "rake" means a "rummage" or "look around for something".

"Can I borrow your compressor pedal?"

"Ach, I'm nae sure far I pit it, I'll hae a rake and let you know"

Google translate said “huh?” So thanks for the clarification

  10. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel seems to have been switched off. As someone who has been really, really poor I sympathise with possible tunnel vision about debt but I do also think he could have done things, and treated people, much better
